Hyman's great ...can't take anything away from him in terms of effort.
Frankly it's Matthews, Marner, JT and Willie that determine what kind of night the Leafs are going to. have. If they're all determined and giving max effort then this team is tough to beat. If they're not bringing it then we get nights like last night.
It's the lack of maturity that Keefe's talking about. - The Law
These guys have been in the league long enough that maturity shouldn't be an issue. Why do you think this is? |

Next 6 games ..
Pit, Pit, Car, TB, Fla, Van ........they're going to have to get their poop together.
Florida with 1 win in last 7 is some serious good luck. - The Law
Hopefully this knocks them out of it. |

Didn't watch last night and I stand by my decision.
This team will not beat Boston or Tampa.
Hell, the playoffs are still an open question.
I hope Dubas does nothing at the trade deadline.

I think some elite athletes take longer to figure out how to "win" then others ...and some never figure it out. Ovechkin talked about it.
Stevie Y is the classic example. He was awesome from day 1 but changed his game eventually became an elite leader/winner. |

I like that the next 6 are tough. It should make or break them. Would love the Panthers to turn it up and start winning to put some pressure on the Leafs. More likely the Leafs and Panthers both keep tripping over themselves. |

I've seen some good push out of Matthews ...I think he's got it ...I hope.
Marner has been pretty passive and invisible lately.
Can't figure out JT. Would love to see some more emotion. |

Leafs defense porous, Buffalo walks in with authority and drops three in 90 seconds. Okposo outskates a guy twice as fast as him. Eichel given all the room he wants to pick a corner. No one wants to cover the net. Fans howl when Buffalo plays a clean game, can’t understand how it’s done |

That was the Scotty Bowman effect. Yzerman was always told by Jacques Demers and Bryan Murray that it was his job to score and set up goals. That's it. But Bowman told him he had to sacrifice offense for defense. That's how you win Cups. Fedorov as well. Ovechkin is a great example.
It took awhile but it finally clicked with him. He realized he needed to do more for his team as a leader so his team could win a Cup. Just scoring won't win in the playoffs. Crosby understood this much earlier. Being shut down by Zetterberg in consecutive Cup Finals taught him how to win. He's just lucky he had Malkin to bail his a$$ out in the 2009 SCF. 😂 |

Did Yzerman learn to play defense? Or did Lidstrom turn into the best two-way defenseman of all time?
Cups without Lidstrom = ZERO |

That was the Sabres Stanley Cup. They'll likely lose 7 in a row now. |

Lidstrom wasn't even the Best defenseman on his own team in 1997. That would be Vladimir Konstantinov. Lidstrom later became one of the Best defensemen of all time. |

Well, that was something to behold last night, eh?
We looked good for the first 8 minutes... then again for 3 minutes to start the 3rd...
What is the deal with us? When we play other teams on there second of a back to back they seem filled with energy and compete with us. When we are on teh back-to-back we look gassed and disinterested? I mean really gassed. There were long stretches where our 5 guys just stood in front of our net watching Buff skate around... I don’t get it. We shouldn’t look that tired. This is not some veteran filled team. Young legs should look better... |
