Coleman confirmed healthy scratch tonight for precautionary reasons |

It was with Lou and he always loved Greene and probably overpaid for it and Greene being captain probably increased the price, you can't trade your captain for peanuts - dmarsden2988
Is Langenbrunner the last time we traded our captain? BTW Coleman was who we took with the pick from Langenbrunner. |

We've only had Sal and Greene as captains since, right? |

I’m not sure if there was one between Langenbrunner and Sal, did we just go without a C after they shipped Langenbrunner? |

1st wouldn't be that valuable coming from those two. Hopefully it's prospect oriented. |

Amazed we get a 2nd for Greene, it's a good return. Just sad to see the captain get traded, he really was a great Devil. Played really tough minutes through the hardest times for this team and did it well. - Pomegrant
That was a great return on a rental. Especially considering that the 2nd round selection is 2021, and the Isles are on the bubble of regression with their old roster. Greene was a great leader, and likely blocked more shots than the rest of the D combined. He certainly fits the Trotz system perfectly. If he wants to come back for another year as a 6/7D, I am sure he would be welcomed back.
Thanks for your leadership and years of steady service Andy |

It should be. 20+ goal scorer that can play C or W, kill penalties on the right side of 30 with a full year left? I’d want more than pick #25-31 in the draft for that. |

Hope the rumors just jumped the gun. No reason to move Coleman now unless there's a huge overpay. - smellmyfinger
Agreed, it has to be a 1st or high quality prospect minimum. Anderson has 1 goal and is the talk of the town. Coleman plays a similar style, and is paced for 30 goals. Given that he could be had for just 900k next season makes him VERY valuable. Exciting times nonetheless. |

Just saw Fitzgerald say on pregame that right now he doesn’t plan on any signings before the deadline. That seems to confirm they will move Vatanen I guess. |

Yep thats what i took from it too, not surprised though. The line that got my attention was, "My plan, if i'm to continue at this position, is to grow around Jack and Nico in that age frame and have a group of kids around that same type of age, grow together"
Sounds like he seems to have a plan and has a vision of what he wants to do. Whether we agree with it or not, or hate that it means we move a Coleman or Palms or both, its better than thinking theres no plan at all and its a complete tire fire. |

I’d also have to think they’d listen to offers on Zajac as well if the plan is to completely blow it up.

Just saw the updated lineup. The era of Mirco Mueller top pair LD has begun. |

I'm sure they are, and believe they have. Im not sure if it was a true report but i saw something a couple weeks ago that the isles had an offer on the table for him but he didnt waive his NTC to go |

If they're selling everybody it's going to be a rough few years. I guess I can enjoy seeing a successful Devils team by the time I hit my forties. |

Haha hopefully one or all of Smith/Bahl/Walsh get to close out the final 10 games.
And Mueller is going to help us greatly..........in the lottery |

Agree with Fitz. Trade everyone |

It was a good return for Greene. A little worried, if this is actually true, what they'll get back for Coleman. I wouldn't mind keeping Fitz as GM. Mostly because no idea who else is out there. But as commendable a job Nas has done I think they do need a new veteran coach with a better system to implement. |

Whoa, completely disagree. Next year, tough. But the year after that assuming we get some more assets right now looks good. |

If they completely blow it up, a lot would have to to go right in order for the team not to at minimum start competing in 3-4 years best case. In a 5 year Shero rebuild we haven't even started competing. |
