I'm trying to understand what Toffoli's value is. If I compare him to the Blake Coleman trade, NJ gets a 1st rounder and TB's last years 1st round pick (effectively 2 firsts). I will admit I don't know much about Blake Coleman so maybe I'm missing something. Toff is 27yrs and BC is 28yrs. Toff has 18 goals and 34 pts on the year, while BC has 21 goals and 31 pts (pretty comparable totals, but keep in mind the Kings have the second worst offence in the league while the Devils are better). Also Toff is defensively responsible and is a +79 in his career while BC is a -21. If I look at all stats Toff should be worth around the same amount, so why is Rob Blake only asking for one 2nd rounder? Doesn't make sense to me. - KingsFan67
A big difference is Toffoli is a rental, whereas Coleman has another year left at an extremely team friendly cap hit. He's pretty much being paid like a 4th liner while producing at a 2nd line rate, on top of being one of the best PKers in the league and playing with a lot of sandpaper in his game. |

Two 1st rounders vs one second rounder is a big difference for one year of contract. But, I guess the market is what anyone is willing to pay. I know Toff wants to stay in LA just sign him to another 2-3 year deal then trade him next years with a year left on this deal. |

Yeah getting 2 playoff runs vs just 1 is a pretty big difference, especially at that cap hit, and will drive the price up tbh. It seemed from all reports that a lot of teams were in on him too so that could've driven the price up a bit. Tampa definitely overpaid a bit, but Tampa is in win now mode and Coleman is incredibly underrated, and will slot in perfectly with that team. Its a win-win for both teams imo |

Ek misses another hey? He picks like 5 or 6 teams is his typical BS race-horse proposal and still gets it wrong. Too funny! That's why people come to this site! |

Don't worry, Ek assured us the Leafs are all over this.
He'll be in Washington by the end of the day. |

The Leafs are trading for Josh Anderson 3 times. Dubas must really want him. |

Let’s take Subban back has a hab for a 2nd round and a mid-high prospect with NJ keeping 30% salary and after that let’s trade Petry for a first and a prospect. |

Kings can retain $.
The only thing Coleman has going for him is the 1 extra year. Big deal. Toffoli > Coleman.

Did the Bolts overpay a bit? Yes. But yeah the extra year is a big deal actually, without even factoring in cap hit, 2 playoff runs and over a year of control > a few months of control with 1 playoff run. And in what way is Toffoli > Coleman? Same offensive production over the past 2 years, while Coleman is one of the best pkers in the league and plays with way more grit and sandpaper in his game than Toffoli, which is what you want in the playoffs. Toffoli is a fine player, but isnt anywhere near the player he was a couple years ago. To say Toffoli is flat out > Coleman just isnt true |

Clearly you must be new here.....
it's his own doing. When you post a bunch of BS, and it's clear BS, you should expect to be called out for it. I take it you're gullible enough to believe his crap?
I feel bad for those that actually pay for his season ticket BS. well actually I take it back, if you're that dumb, you deserve it. |
