Ok, what's the scoop with DeMelo? He's a RD so is that the attraction?
Really haven't watched the Sens play that much to form an opinion, never really noticed DeMelo much. Or so is that the attraction, simple game?
I know others here have mentioned D-M in a positive way, so must be an upgrade. Right? - grahamzky
Apparently his underlying numbers are fantastic. He has a 53.1% Corsi and 54% Fenwick. He does spend more time in the offensive zone. |

He’s only 26, known as a defensive D,
Probably better than all our D not named Morrisey or Pionk.
Top 4 will now be either
Morrisey- Demelo/ Pionk
Kulikov - Demelo/ Pionk
Then they will go
Beaulieu/Poolman
Niku, Sbisa, Bitetto

Those numbers probably go down playing for Maurice.
Last game for Niku tonight. |

Sounds like that's an upgrade then so that's good. Anything to clean up our own end would help in a major way.
My problem is that he's a UFA, hate trading for those as probably little chance of staying, but who knows. He's a Canadian kid, might be effective, like it and stay.
Now we need to somehow beat the Kings tonight. Back to back, I believe, next week against the Caps. That's not good news!

Possibles on your list that would be on my list:
Rangers - DeAngelo, Strome (I like that)
Avs - Jost
Devils - Zacha, Severson (a distinct possibility)
Caps - maybe a buyer for M. Perreault? Draft pick? 3rd?
Barrie won't be available I wouldn't think, a "No" to Skjei and a "God NO" for P.K. Subban. Holy sheekskabob, NO! Zacha or Strome would really interest me looking ahead to next year!
With Rantanen out, my $$$ would be on the Av's picking up Krieder now. - grahamzky

This part is true! I am wondering though, if DeMelo has a sense of humour. Maurice really seems to value that trait in his players. |

Far fetched prediction,
We trade one of Kulikov or Beaulieu and Appleton for Puljo |

Hey Ross77, I really like your idea from last thread!
Here is what a good deal for Subban would look like.
To WPG: PK Subban (2 million per year retained), 2020 first round pick (the worst of the three they have)
To NJ: Mathieau Perreault, 2020 third round pick - TheUltimateJet
Devs are my team, but living close to winnipeg I can't help but cheer for the west as well. Love the jets, and can honestly say that this would be horrible for the Jets. To rank Subban as the player he is today, would be as such:
Vision of Bitetto + physicality of Morrissey + shot of Lowry + speed of Hellebuyck with his pads on...... Honestly, PK is the 3rd highest paid D in this league, but is a 6/7 D on the Devils. He has 12 points, leads the devils in TOI, and has the worst +/- for a reason. Even on the PP, the devils have more goals against than for with P.K on the ice.
This idea needs to be snuffed out immediately, as you'd be better off putting Perrault on the point and saving that money for a real NHL'er |
