Perhaps they will continue to be bad, but hanging your playoff hopes on the success or failure of another team isn't the way to go. Leafs need to control their own destiny and learn to play consistently.

I remember last year when the leafs finished their season badly there were a bunch of people saying the Leafs wouldn’t even make the playoffs despite being 8 points in.

But the Panthers are a tough team to stay ahead of when they have been a bottom 10 team in the NHL since early December.

Leafs have Pits,Pits,Car next three before deadline. Florida have Ana,LA,Veg,.... It could be a different story soon. Like I said, I still think Duba's should go for it. Can't show this team in anyway what giving up on a season is.

I don't think it'll change anything. If Florida had gone 8-2 in their last 10 and was 7/8 points ahead of the Leafs then maybe ....but Playoff hockey is there for the taking so they'll be approaching the TDD with the playoffs in mind.
