Freddy is having a bad stretch for sure right now (it started before he got hurt and now he is trying to get back up to speed after being hurt IMO) but he's still a top tier NHL goalie and has been for a number of years.
All the finger pointing and blame laying at the guy is laughable. Most teams would kill to have had a goalie as consistently good as he has been for a measly 5 million per year. Does he have bad / terrible games - yep, just like every other goalie in the league does. You can't expect your goalie to be the guy who makes 10 bell after 10 bell saves game in and game out, once in awhile when he is having a bad game you need to pick him up - the Leafs rarely do this to any goalie and haven't for years and years.
And if you want to chirp about his play this year look at the fact he is putting up numbers very close to C. Price #'s for half the cost.
Leafs need better D. Both guys who play D but also team Defense. - Cush29
Some just point at the sv% even after they watch the game.

I really hope the Leafs don’t make a trade.
This year is not our year. - Atomic Wedgie
I expect the Leafs will make a move or two. It's only a guess and an expectation. Teams that have had 38 - 40 wins during the regular season have won the cup. With Barrie a UFA unlikely to be signed by the Leafs, it would make sense to move him if they can improve the team
Dubas aint afraid to make deals. Now is better than the draft. - Santo_44
Im not sure it is. What D out there is worth the price theyd have to pay? There hasnt been any good names out there that would make sense. There will be more available at the draft.

Exactly. This year is done, and it's obvious what the issues are. Cut bait, and look to make moves in the offseason unless there is a dumb GM out there willing to make a deal great for the Leafs, or to trade any UFAs.
Have to think Dubas maybe holds firm and doesn't make any trades.. The prices seem high for rentals.. Players with term will probably cost even more - PatC80
I can see Dubas saying Rielly and Mickey coming back are like free trades.

Did anyone see Clifford/Campbell from Dubas? Wasn't even on the radar around here. If Dubas makes a deal it's an unlikely name from what has been rumoured.

Leafs should extend Barrie to trade him to Anaheim for Manson.
Would work for both teams actually. - MaximusAurelius
Manson would be a good add for the Leafs, doubt that Barrie - with his current season and salary expectation gets it done. Manson - has a NTC and LA likes him and he's signed to a decent contract. Leafs have very little trade capital to work with. No 1st, no 3rd and no 5th in the next draft

That is just an excuse. There will be some on the table that aren't now and there will be some that won't be on the table that are now.
Getting the player now with term for the extra playoff run is worth it. Look at the prices teams are paying for rentals.

I agree with the idea there's more available at the draft is an excuse. People also say "might as well trade him at the deadline". Karlsson got a lot of that talk. Eventually you overplay your hand and you're worse off.

Don't know that Dubas makes significant move at deadline. Prices are high and the Johnsson and Mikeheyv injuries make acquiring a d-man with term to play in your top 4 more difficult since the likely piece going the other way (Kapanen) is needed on this roster right now.
