Dammit! - Scabeh
Cursed to be 10th in the east and picking 15th in the draft every year for the next 5. |

No, not really.
Kerrie has more pts combined.
Kadri wasnt a great defensively as leafers wanted to believe.
Willie initially replaced kadris spot on the pp.
Kadri would have been suspended at one point in the playoffs.
Saves cap space next season. - Fakepartofme
Yes, yes really.
Kadri has 19 goals.
Kadri played with intensity and grit, something the Leafs have very little of. Need that more than another small, skilled, weak player like Kerfoot.
Nah he wouldn't have. Kadri would have learned his lesson. Rather have a player you have to reign back than a softy who can't dial it up.
Save what space? 1 million? For pooptier results? Huge pass. |

At this rate Barrie could get a 1st and top prospect. |

Listen, I like Dermott as a prospect but the reality is, the Leafs have Sandin and Liljegren. Dermott is an RFA and that means a pay raise. He's not a top 4-D yet and he's not a RHD. It's a numbers game. They gotta move him out so they can bring in a top pair RHD and a 2nd pair RHD. He's never going to be either of those things.
He's also kinda small, not so great defensively, doesn't put up that many points and easily replaced by Sandin. If he could be a Muzzin replacement, I'd be the first one to say dump Muzzin and keep Dermott. Reality is though, he hasn't filled that role yet because he's just not that type or that good - JohnFergusonJr
If the trade blows your socks off.
He’s put up great #’s in his limited time, and we haven’t seen enough when he’s moved up to tell if it’s just the comp.
Move him to the right side for now, with Sandin....I think he’s better then Lily |

Why would the Kings not move him?
The next 5 years, they're going nowhere except lottery picks.
All these guys get traded eventually when teams realize they need the future assets more than they need the current player. It's just a matter of time. - JohnFergusonJr
Theyll have no D.
Even if they do move him, it wont be to the leafs.
Let it go man. |

It's enticing.
I'm beginning to like the idea of Dubas being all "You guys haven't shown me you want to win so I'm building for the future. Way to (frank) it." |

I said to acquire Campbell last year when Sparks was sucking the bag. Clifford, nobody saw coming.
But his pattern is easy to figure out; just see who use to play for the Soo Greyhounds and/or he was an agent for. - JohnFergusonJr
i was right about trading for clifford months ago.

Again, Leafs don't need another D to put up numbers. They need a D to prevent goals. Dermott doesn't prevent goals, he causes them. He's not big enough or strong enough to be a shutdown D either.
Moving him to the right side puts him in an even tougher position with another guy who can't play defense. That pairing is doomed to fail defensively.
He's slightly ahead of Liljegren at the moment but Liljegren has more potential and he costs less.
Numbers game. |

Kadri is not the reason this team may miss the playoffs.
He would be an aging 3rd line center here, wouldnt be at 19 goals. The leafs score plenty of goals.
We thought he learned his lesson last time. He didnt. |

We got a 2nd rounder (+ conditional 4th) for Scandella, a guy we acquired for a 4th rounder a few weeks ago!

I don't think you said it but I thought I'd bandwagon your point of leafs scoring plenty. |

Kadri is the type you want in the playoffs and his regular season numbers have been strong too so he helps on both fronts.
Aging? He's the same age as Tavares.
Yeah, he did it twice but that's why baseball gives you three strikes and not two. Again, rather have a gritty player you have to hold back than a bunch of these softies that will never ramp it up when it matters. |

Leafs don't have assets in the cupboard that theyll part with.
The cupboard isnt what it use to be.
Place they need to keep the pipeline pumping, they have most of their cap spent on 4 guys.
Cant empty the pipeline.

Lily isn’t quick enough imo...Dermott’s a much better skater and the #’s Dermott puts up are right up Dubas’s alley.
Just my thoughts, he’s not getting moved unless is for a #1 maybe. |

I like what the kings are doing. 2 picks in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds this year so far. Maybe add another 2nd with the Martinez deal. They have their first round pick and I can't really see anything on their roster giving them another first without trading something of substances.
Maybe at the draft they parlay some depth picks into a late first but I think they are better having more kicks at the can than trying to hit a home run on a single late pick. - Aaron_85

Again, more expensive, smaller, bad defensive positioning and not a RHD. Liljegren will develop while Dermott seems to have plateaued a bit.
What numbers by the way? He has 9 points FFS. |
