Guys, you are all debating a disallowed goal that would have done the Leafs no good either way. Why waste your energy? When your own coach says you're flat, you're flat. Period.
Tough schedule? Yup. It sucks, and has likely costed you points in your division this year. (Yes, against my team, too.)
Reffing sucks? Don't have to tell Habs fans this, just ask Julien or Gallagher after Saturday. Calls generally get missed both way. poop happens. Hard to differentiate during the heat of the moment.
You guys have some great players on your team, once you're put together, you'll get there. Maybe we'll get there too, and hopefully over our respective teams at some point in the playoffs.
We need some pieces, too. Hopefully we get there the right way, through drafting talent, and developing.
Keep your heads high, enjoy the ride... I am. (Although it's tough this year.)

beat the sens by the skin of their teeth then get blown out by the garbage sabres, this team is not ready to do anything in the playoffs. dubas (frank)ed up. - ghetto puck
It is much more than the lose to the Sabres....as you pointed out with the Sens game. But, for the last 9 games....they have played bottom half teams. Sabres, Sens, Habs, Coyotes, Ducks, and 4 more. I think only Dallas among the Top 10 in the league. Of those NINE games....ONE regulation win. That is horrid. Against that competition. No games against Bruins, Lightning, Blues, Caps, or any of the Top 5-6. This is not a bad 2 games against Sens and Sabres....this is a 3 week stretch of very uninspired hockey. Yes, they DID grab a few points out of it by beating some weak teams in OT. But, they have to find their game...and fast.
The games coming up will not be the easy-peasy ones they just completed over the last 9 games. So, they better step it up...and now...

Without engaging that obvious troll putz... The basis of the rule is that you have to be able to see white ice between the puck and the goal line (both of which you also have to visibly see).
The ability to see all 3 components removes the ability for camera angles, shadows, gear, etc to factor into a possible outcome.
Does the idea that you can't draw in lines into a freeze frame and say a blob blending in with gear is the puck when you can't even see the (frank)ing line let alone ice in between... Actually have to be explained?
Arrogant peon, it's always everyone else that cant wrap their feeble minds around it isn't it... - joel878
Where is the white ice, the puck and the red line in this case?
Some GMs fear being scrutinized and are afraid to make deals because of it. Thankfully Dubas doesn’t seem to be that way.
They have the cap space now. The “prices will be cheaper” excuse is always bs. If you have a player you want with term it’s worth spending a little extra to get him an extra playoff run.
No, that’s Going Full Max. It’s where you make poop up just to complain about what you made up. It’s like the Strawman Argument fallacy. - Steven_Seagull
I appreciate you taking your time to clear this up.

exactly... poor calls/non-calls all game long...
I particularly enjoyed the abject stupidity of the second penalty that Muzzin got... where the official who was located about 20 feet away with an unobstructed line-of-sight... didn't call the penalty... the guy located 120 feet away with obstructions made the call.... AWESOME
and the Kapanen skating up ice on the PK... and Dahlin actually makes contact impeding him... Ref was about 15 feet away...
How did I know in the brief window he wasn't saying anything he was crunching away buttons trying to find one single solitary piece of loose evidence which only he thinks furthers his non existent point.
Can we just report every single one of his posts until a ref gets sick of it and bans his alt?

That Kappy non call was worse than the Muzzin call.
He had a clear breakaway before he was slowed down.
