Well we had to suffer terribly to get them, so I don’t feel too guilty. Nor will you when Seider and Lafreniere breakout. 👍 - Wildschwein
Don't have Lafreniere yet. 😉 |

You should trade Athanasiou to the Yotes for Hall. Then there will be no question about Lafreniere being a Wing. |

Samson Reinhart? - gergeswillems
Nuge is better and has another year on his deal.
Reinhart is probably gonna want 7.5/8 per. |

I’d be okay with this. Hall with Larkin and Laf would be fun. |

Drai probably deserves a nomination, but it’s Mackinnon’s to lose. He’s driving a better-performing team in a way tougher division. And he doesn’t have a Connor McDavid equivalent to play with
I predict MacKinnon in a landslide |

Drai is doing it without McDavid. Has 15 more points than MacKinnon. And MacKinnon has Rantenen and Landeskog to play with. Those are no slouches either. And they are definately deeper than Edmonton. Clearly not a run away winner for either. |

Currently Colorado is only 2 pts up on Edmonton, Albeit with 2 games in hand. I wouldn't say his linemates are terrible either. At the same time Mackinnon has Averaged more ice time than Drai on the PP. Having less goals/assists even with that advantage and significantly less time on the PK.
Drai also has taken more face offs and comparing %, which drai also holds the edge at 50.80% compared to 42.90%.
I'd say currently it's Drai's to lose based on stats and importance as in every scenario part of the game Drai has been significantly more impactful for the Oilers than Mackinnon has been. |

Does he play for the Oilers? Yes...
Does he play out East? Nope...
Zero chance he gets the Hart. The few eastern media who might stay up late enough to watch simply doesn't because Oilers...
Ironically enough I've heard McKinnon is the choice for Eastern Media. Not that they watch him either, just that he isn't an Oiler and right now close enough to make a bunch of excuses for giving it to anyone other than an Oiler. |

I mean he's a good player, but he's either:
1) Benefited from playing most of the time (and PP) with CMD
2) Benefited from other teams playing their top shut down guys against CMD
With or without CMD, he's a product of CMD.
Give it to Pasternak, guy is doing it all and leading his team to the best record in the NHL. - halo63
You obviously haven’t watched him play. Guy dominates most nights with or without Conner. Right now he has to be the leading candidate, and I hate the Oilers! Leon’s legit! |
|
|
|
If Draisaitl and MacKinnon traded places, MacKinnon would win with zero debate. |
|
|
|
I also believe Oilers have a lot of hate around the NHL, for all the 1st overall picks, AND getting McDavid. |
|
|
|
Edm should catch a break tho, Nail was a fail, their GM gave Hall away, and Nuge is not the best player from his year. |
|
|
|
He would win the Hart in my fantasy league. No player had meant more to any other GM than what Leon means to my team. The guy is a beast. Shows up on the scoresheet every which way you can imagine.
I’ve watched 8-9 full Edmonton games this year. Maybe watched some scattered periods as well. Every time I watch I am in such shock by how much time this guys eats on the ice. He doesn’t get sheltered minutes either. Gets a lot of D zone starts.
Mcdavid is just Jesus at hockey, so it’s hard to argue Leon over Connor, but Leon has had one hell of a season and health should count for something. Should be one of those two. |

He's averaging 1.61 points a game and his team will make the playoffs. You can pretty much forget everything else. Nothing else matters. Kucherov won last year playing on an all-star team. Even though it's a silly nonsense stat, people love the GWG stat and he already has more than Kucherov did last year. |

It has nothing to do with Oiler hate. They used the playoff excuse for the last couple of years because it's boring to just give it to McDavid every year. McDavid still probably gets close to Gretzky's nine by the time he retires.
