You think about the Isles being low on assets or prospects in the system and you have to go back to Okposo, Neilson and JT leaving for absolutely nothing.
You have to think there would be a hell of a lot more picks and or prospects that The Islanders would have to deal with today. Talk about bad management - nyisles7
There's no doubt a lot of the issues they have currently were caused by (frank)wad Snow |

If Lameriello put all of his eggs in the Kreider basket we’ll be left standing when the music stops. Pretty familiar place for this team especially under Lameriello. |

That’s a pretty good deal while dumping Backes salary. |

Not sure how I feel about this. Probably not a bad deal for either team. BOS gets some breathing room and a 24yo quality player signed cheap for next year too (who's an RFA when the deal expires). ANA gets another 1st.
Before someone says it: I highly doubt ANA would've wanted Ladd at more money than Backes and signed for three more years instead of one. |

That’s an excellent (frank)ing deal for Boston.

Isles have not done well for the longest time when plan A has not worked out. |

Yeah, I can't believe that he'd do that for Kreider. Panarin, you can almost understand.
Then again, outside of bringing in Trotz and firing Snowjob, he hasn't done anything impactful. (sorry, Brass) |

Let me ask you this. How would you feel about Ladd and the Islanders 1st for Kase? |

I don't think it's unfair value at all, but we have no idea where the Isles first this year is going to be. I'd have done 2021 1st and Ladd for sure though. |

First round pick, David Backes and a prospect to Anaheim
Have to imagine that it's at least a decent prospect. Maybe Frederic.
edit:
now
Believe the full deal is Ondrej Kase to BOS for 1st-round pick, David Backes and prospect Axel Andersson.

I guess they could really go for it and trade their 2021 1st too, but that'd be a bold move |

Maybe not, but I’d have definitely ponied up a better prospect to make it happen. |

They just might be that bold, considering how close they got last year. |

'21 1st Aho Ladd for Kase? I probably would've done it. Doubt that would've moved the needle for Anaheim though. |

BOS is retaining 25% on Backes, too. Don't think this one was in the cards for the Isles, in regards to moving Ladd anyway |
