Is it bad I had to look this player up? Stats seem really good. - ses111
You didn't know about DeBrincat?

That one chubs me up a bit, but I think we all know they're probably not trading him - eichiefs9
I would take Strome over him. |

Perhaps, but that's the only calibre of player I'd be willing to move Sorokin for. - Wildschwein
You see Strome more than we do, what's your opinion of him? |

I would take Strome over him. Not really sure what makes him a better player? - Cptmjl
He's a sniper. Not having a great season this year, but scored 41 last year and 28 in his rookie year. Little dude with a big shot. Plays tough too, even though he's small.
Has a three year extension kicking in next year @ $6.4M |

Ahh, I quickly looked at his stats watched him play a few times when we played him. Thought he looked good would just go with the center in Strome. |

They both fill a need, honestly. Those are about the only two players on their roster I'd probably be OK moving Sorokin for.
Both play wing, right now. Not sure where Strome is better suited to be completely honest. But the reality is that Nelson is your 2C for the foreseeable future so they really may be looking to beef up on wing and find a 3C in UFA. |

I just chuckled at the thought of Lehner and Sorokin being a goalie tandem for a team not named the New York Islanders #Isles

I do not watch other teams. I have trouble enough watching the Isles. |

I'm not high on him. Frankly I think he's been propped up by receiving big minutes with Kane and DeBrincat (mostly last year admittedly). |

Far as I can tell, he's playing 3L minutes centered by Dach with DeBrincat on the LW.

Not sure if his step back from last season is more a product of that or if it's a product of having a rookie center. Or he's just not that good. |

Hawks started the year with Strome playing pivot to DeBrincat and Kane. Line was absolutely stellar last year. It fell apart early this year, mostly due to injuries on Strome's part. Hasn't really been reassembled since. Some of the reasoning for that is the emergence of Dach, some is due to Strome playing like poop. |

Well part of the job is selling the team and what he鈥檚 doing with it. Its not all about outbidding another team as we see. I find it weird that nobody mentions that there鈥檚 a huge sales aspect that comes into attracting UFA鈥檚.
With that said I wouldn鈥檛 blame Lameriello for not signing UFA鈥檚. - Cptmjl
There's so many things that can go wrong with trying to sign UFA's. For the Isles I think the issue has always been a combination of problems. The uncertainty surrounding the team was a killer for a long time. Tavares leaving was a BAD look for the team. Playing in two stadiums, one which is a nightmare commute is also a well-publicized negative. Our own players have publicly female doged about that, so I'm sure that doesn't play well to UFA's either. That too should be a thing of the past soon but is still a current issue. I've said this one in the past and I'm telling you it's an issue. Taxes....If you're a player making $4 mil a year, would you rather be taxed in Dallas ($0 income tax) or New York ($340k)? Then there's the little brother problem with the Rangers. Winning and culture are big for a lot of players, but big time players in their prime looking for big payouts will often worry about the other issues.
I think all of our GM's over the last 30 years have faced this issue unfortunately.

I acknowledged that multiple times. Kind of water under the bridge as far as discussions go on this topic. My point is pretty specific but you seem to be getting derailed into something else. I鈥檓 stating he has been unable to add to the lineup to help it. You鈥檙e again, talking about signing UFA鈥檚, solidifying the bottom 6, helping our PK, whatever. Everything besides what I鈥檓 talking about.馃槀馃槀馃槀
It鈥檚 ok I鈥檓 just stating facts I don鈥檛 get to emotional on this topic馃槀
Let鈥檚 see what he does.
Also, not to nitpick but the first bold isn鈥檛 true. We did beat the Panthers to get to the second round under Snow and actually put up a little more of a fight against a better team in Tampa. - Cptmjl
You would nit pick Jesus, it鈥檚 just what you do Snow won a round but did he make the POs the following year? And it only took him 12 years to do it. It took Lou 1 year to match Snows performance and this year with 2 PO appearances in a row he will out do it. He did
Look all I鈥檓 saying is Snows gone, we are in the POs each year. We won 17 games in a row, ( funny every player, coach and GM were fine then ) just sit back relax, enjoy it and:
