Have to think Lou's idea is signing Pageau and getting some picks back by moving Bailey and opening a spot for Wahlstrom. - ses111
I mean, if all that happens, then it's a great deal. I gotta say, though, if none of that happens, I'll agree they overpaid for a rental, but I'll still be fine with it. Whether we like it or not, with the contracts they have on the books, these next three or so seasons are their window before they'll have to blow up half the team and start over. It's definitely not a perfect core, but it's what we have. Might as well give it an honest shot before the ride's over and we're back to reading reports on draft-eligible prospects in November!

Lou needs to get Pageau locked up. No question it's a steep price but after the Greene deal you cannot stop. This team is not in rebuild mode and you have to hope Belmont helps signing quality FA's so it's not just relying on the draft.
This is the player I wanted to get all along I’m happy he’s an islander. That’s a lot to give up of course. Would’ve been happier if it were a 2023 so we at least had a second rounder in the next draft which is from what I’m hearing extremely deep but oh well I don’t value picks as much as some. Is what it is. With all of this said if we can get him locked up to a somewhat reasonable deal I’m a happy fan. That’s the main thing that’ll make this trade a great one as everyone already mentioned.
I’m pretty ecstatic to have this guy on our team. I think he can potentially help us a lot. He was a thorn in the Rangers side a few years ago in the semis. Good playoff player and checks every box for what we need. Super excited to see him play and hopefully I’m right about what he can do for our team. Had a feeling old man Lou was going to come through today.
I’m still bitter, we had Tavares and we should have had Panarin. - mighty13duck
How exactly "should we" have had Panarin? Lou offered him more money than the Rangers. He wanted to play for the Rangers. That's like saying I "should have" banged Emily Ratajkowski.

I'm looking forward to watching Pageau Cpt. I did not think Lou would let another deadline go without making a move. Players need to get it done now. Lou got them help.

I want a 90 plus point player a year to go along tip Barzal. - mighty13duck
Well yeah don’t we all but Barzal is to me a first line center. He’s still growing into his game. He has some knocks for sure but we haven’t seen the kids ceiling yet.

Listen he’s definitely the best player on this team and potentially can be top 5 in the league but right now imo he’s a 2nd line center. I hope he picks up his game defensively and offensively and proves me wrong as the season progresses.
