He is really good 3rd line center borderline 2nd line center. I honestly dont think he was too overpaid, prob 500-750k too much.

Just want to point out if Hayes isn't overpaid as a tweener 2/3C, that doesn't bode well for us trying to resign Strome.

It's the length and the NMC that bothers me. A 4/5 year deal with a limited NTC (meaning he wouldn't need to be protected for expansion) would have been preferable.

I think realistically 5-6 million. He's played like a 2C for 1.5 seasons now, he's going to want to be compensated for that. Hayes and Nelson might have reset the market though. We could always go through arbitration (higher chance this happens than you think), but then we have to go through the same song and dance a year from now.

When the other team complains and other fans chime in that the kid is good, thats a good indication the kid has good chance of making it.

Calls coming in to Ottawa on Namestnikov. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on the move in the days ahead. He’s been very good for the Senators. Good two way forward.
