oH gAWD so many disasters in that Milburry era (error) too many to go through. How crazy was it they gave up Chara? But in hindsight I never thought he would make it either, I still remember him as a rookie looking so lost out there, was terrible on his skates and just looked goofy. Never would have thought he would be a Hall of Fame D man who would go on to play another 20-21 years and still going.

Here is the roster supporting Chara below. No doubt he needed to get with a competent org (so weird now calling Ottawa competent), but he didn't have a ton of help. I also somewhat defend Milbury on that trade, because no GM at the time could have known Yashin would turn into a pumpkin. He had scored 44 goals for Ottawa and still looked good for a year or two on NYI.

take it to a dry cleaner or something and have them switch the 4 & 2 to 24.

buy a kakko name plate off the internet.

boom

That idea actually has merit! Unless, of course, it came from China and the cost of changing it would be 3 times what it cost in the 1st place!

Trade scenarios are great : realistic i think not ,GET REAL...
reading the state of NYR in its strenghts & weaknesses section on B B .. you realize we only have Krastov in pipeline to step up realistically next yr BUT with an intro later this yr in March if out.

Barron & Hendrickson & such are 2 yrs away & would be true rooks then ...

IF we trade out Krieds(next capt. in 20 21 ) or Strome or Buhcny maybe not Fast ,(re signing in summer )we are committing vet presence suicide .

Knowing Howden- Lemeuix make up 2/3 of 4th line thats got possibles going fwd.
we got nothing coming in to fill the gaping slots & pressure it would put on the 1st yr & rooks to step up.No one fills Krieds -Strome slots till maybe F A ? & then its more of a lateral move

Trades are coming out of the D section : return is for top 6 wing/center

If they trade Skjei maybe A dA will go to left side or Rykov gets the call
Skjei for Trchek + pick ?
A dA could get a pretty pkg ?
or another of the so called elite D prospects ?

Hank Staal Smith are cap helpers if they or the teams hunting choose

Nope. Milbury is an ass and a trash human being (based solely on comments he has made as a broadcaster). And I will tie any failure I can to him!!

The series of trades is hilarious. They basically gave up Claude for him ( not a terrible trade by stats, but the final piece of the puzzle for the Avs) then got some iffy NHL players back from the Leafs, but since the Leafs are also just always bad, their 1st wound up rising to 4th overall. Of course the isles screwed the porch by trading Luongo (who they picked with Toronto's pick).

Leafs also traded the Islanders Kenny Jonsson in the Clark deal, who was a stud

I hate Milbury too. He tries so hard to go out of his way to hate on us. I shed no tears that any of his jobs he's been a failure at.

You are proposing a Lundqvist trade every hour and you have the gall to tell other people they are being unrealistic?

I think Jonsson was solid. He was for sure better than alot of the stiffs the Rangers had on defense during the early 2000s, but compared to guys like Clark he really was just a guy. Ideally on a good team I think Jonsson woulda been like a 3 or a 4.

Kenny Jonsson had the reddest face I ever saw and even at 30 years old he looked like a little boy. Messeir once hit him with a vicious elbow directly to the jaw, his head wobbled back like a punch drunk boxer who got knocked out, scary. That was the first of many concussions he had.

He might not have been a #1 defenseman, but he was an unbelievably solid workhorse. He was extremely underrated.

I'll give you he was better than his stats indicate, but his stats aren't very good. You can throw him out there to eat up minutes and I don't think he will kill you, but he isn't particularly great either. I would have loved to have him on those era NYR teams for sure though.
