Too many things had to go right for this team to make the playoffs. There are lots of useful players on the roster, unfortunately, many of the same type of player and aside from Suzuki (who, I am going to assume, did most of this on his own)- the lack of good player development/coaching has been horrid.

fair enough. but it's not a fine line between competing for/missing the playoffs and being out of the race by mid-January, which they effectively were. yes they had a few injuries. join the (frank)ing club. there's no roster-related reason for this team to be as bad as it is, particularly on the defensive side of the puck.

Gerard Gallant will be the next coach.
