That one was about fair
Hall. Underwhelming
Zucker. Fair
Coleman. Seller won
Demilo underwhelming
Dillon underwhelming
Camball Clifford. Fair
Scand. Fair.
What says sellers market here? - ChrisMS
Got a pretty good return for Greene too. Vatanen would be a rental so who knows what the price would be, but if they decided to move Palmieri I would assume it would take a Coleman or better return.

I mean having interest as a vested devils fan has nothing to do with it, I just see read whats happening and see it with my eyes. These D are getting 2nds+ and arent actually worth it. Vatanen is arguably the best D available and hes realistically a #4 D.
You cant compare deadline prices from year to year, because the market changes and teams' needs change. The quality and amount of rentals change and the number of teams being full sellers or buyers change. This year is considered a bad year for defense rentals. If you seriously think Scandella is a top 4 D and worth a 2nd round pickj + then idk what to tell you, considering the best D's available in Dillon and Vats are both #4's playing higher than that because their teams suck. A realistic return for Vatanen is a 2nd round pick, nothing more. But because of what the market is, he'll end up getting more. How much more? We'll need to see
Like i said, it is what it is. Believe what you want, but ill stick to whats actually being reported and listen to the people who actually know what they're talking about. - vlongo4419
Thats a fair assessment. Vats has been our best D over the past 3 seasons, but we were never a contender. On a good team, he would be 3/4 in their depth charts. With Marinez and Scandella landing solid returns, I expect Vats to fetch a 1st, especially if 50% cap is retained.
Personally, I feel the ambidextrous D would be best suited to help the Panthers. Matheson/Stralman are not bringing any offense. I think a Vat/Ekblad pairing could work, with the overly offensive Yandle to have Stralman back holding down the fort. I just think Vats offense would blend with that system and high caliber offense nicely.

10th would be sick - shvingter88
Obviously the lottery will likely chance positions, but as it stands today,we are drafting 4th 13th, 16th. Yotes could certainly drop a couple spots if they don't address their need for centres. |

If we somehow move up to #2, I'd like to see them trade down to pick 4 or 5 and pick up more assets. At pick 4 or 5 the best player available will be one of Drysdale, Raymond or Holtz any one of them would help us with a glaring need.
Assuming Vancouver makes the playoffs and the Coyotes don't win the lottery there's some really good D prospects projected to go mid-late in the 1st round too. - smellmyfinger
I'm hesitant to think that moving picks around works out, but I'm not saying anything is off the table as long as the asset management looks good. |

hearing #Canucks are still very much in mix for Wayne Simmonds, D prospect could be going back to New Jersey
Anything is an over payment so I'll take prospect I don't know anything about. |

That'd be a major W for us if that were the case. Canucks GM did say he now would prefer to give up prospects over picks for rentals if he finds a deal. But i cant see him giving up a Woo for Simmonds, i think it'd be a lesser prospect than him if they come to a deal. Woo is a solid B prospect, very physical D for only being 6'0. But if he thinks thats what'd it takes maybe hes just that desperate to try to make the playoffs
To add onto this, Friedman just reported the Canucks interest as well on Simmonds, and name dropped Juolevi as a possible return. Benning may just be desperate enough to give up a decent D prospect. |

Is there a deal for Kap or Nylander in Toronto? They need D. We'd have to give up more but could be worth it? |

If they are hesitant to move a quality prospect we could give them Simmonds and a later round pick back. These things always come down to how much the GMs really want to get things done.
Woo seems like we’d have to give them Simmonds and maybe a fourth. IDK. Just spitballing. |

I'd be perfectly willing to add a mid-late round pick onto Simmonds if it got us a Woo tbh. But we'll see what happens, Benning seems like he could be a bit desperate. Woo would absolutely be my target, but they have a couple other decent D prospects as well |

If they're dumb enough to give us Juolevi or especially Woo for Simmonds, I want that done yesterday. |

I’d think if this were the case it wouldn’t be a rumor, it would be a done deal. Unless the hold up is what NJ has to add to get it done. |

I'd imagine the barrier is salary. They probably want us to take on Loui |

See the problem with that is unless we are sure we can re-sign vats our defense which is already terrible will be even worse for a while
Subban butcher Smith Mueller and possibly bahl for next year (am I forgetting anyone?)
If we draft a dman in 1st round will they even be ready? No need to rush

If Cory plays I bet a team inquired to watch and scout. We'll eat salary for sure, but interesting indeed.
