There isn't much point in giving Blackwood a heavy workload for this season but I am curious how Blackwood would hold up. I think physically he'd be fine. Mentally who knows? Marty was a remarkable workhorse but I doubt he was facing as many shots as the Devils allow now.

Marty was a different breed. Plus I think his hybrid style contributed to his longevity.

I remember the days when in the playoffs we would hold teams to like 3-5 shots per period. That was insane. I think it was the 2000 playoffs.

I went to Round 1 vs panthers. After the game was over I said they were gonna win the cup. I never seen a team dominate and control everything the way the Devils did. Its like they flipped a switch and transformed into something else.
