Flyers should look at Trocheck from Florida, send Ghost the other way. Pretty much a dollar for dollar trade with Troch at 4.7 for 2 more years and Ghost at 4.5 for 3 more years.
Philly gets a good 3rd line center with some toughness Florida gets a puck moving D.
Trade makes sence for both teams Ghost will be revitalized going to the team he cheered for growing up and going to games with his grandpa and Philly gets a center to play on the 3rd line while making some more room for their defence prospects.
Freidman looked good when called up and could serve as a 7th d - Dr. Pepper
Florida is still in the hunt for third in the Atlantic. And Ghost's value is down right now.

I'm not for or against trading Ghost, but I know that if we did he would become a Norris winner for that team next season lol |

There is no way you get Trocheck for Ghost. Besides Florida already has Yandle for 3more years who is an offensive LD and PP specialist like Ghost, just a lot better at it. |

No way. While we're at it, we're getting McDavid for JvR. They've already got the Art Ross winner in Draisaitl, but they need a big winger for him. Win/win. |

He came off of LTIR, not sure he can go for a rehab stint. |

Did you skip over the part where Bill went into detail how JVR has taken advantage of the matchups on the 3rd line? And that he's been lighting it up on the 3rd line ever since going there? - arichardson22
I didn’t skip it, I simply gave my own thought and opinion. You don’t think we would be a harder team to match up against with three skilled lines and three skilled centers? |

Obviously we'd like to add skill, but at what cost is the issue. If we all think Ghost is expenable, then his trade value is likely at an all-time low, which means we'd have to include even more assets for the trade.
If we were a top-end Cup contender (Boston, TB, Pittsburgh, Washington, etc.) and we wanted to get Carter, then I'd be more for it because of the short-term gains. But this late is his career at that hit for 3 more years with us still on the upswing, I'll pass. |

Partial no-trade. He has a 10-team no-trade list. Would cost more than Carter because of his lower cap hit and shorter term. Also a better player at this late stage of their respective careers.
BTW, no-trade clauses hurt the seller more than the buyer because it cuts down on the potential destinations. - bmeltzer
My expectation of this team was to finish third in the metro and one playoff series victory. With this season being up and down, the team seems to have found its mojo and we’re exactly where should be. The expectations shouldn’t change, especially with the offseason Acquisitions. If we grab a second/third line center, I think the bar should continue to stay high. |

The only question here should be cost. Whether we are talking about Staal or Carter, that’s a serious upgrade down the middle. |

If we're giving up high-end futures (top prospects or high picks) simply to win a playoff series, I'm not down. If it's the difference between winning the Cup or not, then I'd consider it. But just to make us a tougher second round out, no thanks. |

I agree with this. I’m not even trading Ghost for Carter or Staal. Keeping mind, when I’m say that adding Staal or Carter is interesting, I understand the on ice impact. I don’t know if we can fit them under the cap and I don’t know what draft picks we have. |

Still depends on the cost. Everyone knows the chances of anything past the 2nd or 3rd round amount to much is tough to find. If there is something out there that isnt going to have a hefty cost on the future, I say do it. We have a strong team. As a GM you have to do your best to get a playoff team to the SC. You miss 100% of the shots you dont take. Not doing anything would. Flyers should be taking a shot to a reasonable extent.
You never know what will happen. We could be the St.Louis or the Columbus(in terms of success not going all in) of last season |

Two weeks ago I didn’t feel good about our team. Right now I feel very good about our team but they have to continue this type of play into the playoffs. The only team I want nothing to do with right now is Tampa Bay. |

Yes. If we can get Eric Staal at 50% retained for a 7th rounder, I'd do it. But to get a significant upgrade in the top-9, you're going to have to give up quality futures, and I'm no willing to do that at this point. |

don't disagree with this, as long as it is a good hockey trade and makes them better, you take the shot.
Whoever has the least amount of injuries and is playing the best hockey at the best time will win the cup

CBA Question:
How is Evan Bouchard slide eligible as a former CHLer playing in the AHL? He shouldn't be allowed to play in the AHL until he's 20, at which point his contract should kick in whether he plays in the NHL or not. |

Aside from Mario Lemieux, he was the most dominating player I ever got to see live (I only saw Gretzky in the 96 World Cup when he was on the downside). - jmatchett383
Forsberg was pretty dominant during that same period, I'd say. |
