i think the GMs role in the draft is overstated but it is the GMs job to make sure the team you have in place to draft and develop is competent. it's been 8 years of nothing coming from the draft and how they haven't overhauled is a mystery.

i don't know what "plan" anyone sees. drafting players and hope they develop into good NHLers is not a plan.

And we're seeing a decline already after only a month, not sure he'd be consistent throughout an entire season

I think the main argument was that you still need to give a show for the rest of the season if you want people in the seats. Not sure I would spend hundred of dollars to go see a team in full tank mode.
