Hawks have a new core? - Beaver-Warrior
😂... Well they seem to think they do. Debrincat, Strome (I hope not), Dach, Boqvist, Mitchell once he gets here.
I personally think there are too many question marks
to call it the new core but it sure seems like Bowman and McD believe that. |

We should have Lovie Smith say that Jeremy is our coach like he said Rex is our quarterback. It saves Stan from facing the media. |

Maatta is a mixed bag with fans on this site (I guess a bunch of players are). Personally, I am fine with him on the blueline next season as long as the supporting cast is upgraded.
The Hawks will need an experienced veteran in the event de Haan and/or Seabrook are not fully healthy by the fall or beyond. Koekkoek is okay if he can continue to improve. No to Seeler, please.
Otherwise, the youth movement in the backend will be in full swing with Boqvist and Mitchell plus at least one of Gilbert, Carlsson, and/or McCoshen (if he is renewed). Beaudin and Krys are still another year. - AEL_Fox
My feeling regarding Maatta. Murphy, deHaan next year at this time leading up to the expansion draft. One will be one of the 3 protected D (along with 2 and 7), one will be exposed to the draft and probably lost to Seattle and one will be traded. |

I probably should said recently over the past decade. - Scott1977
Yeah, no one recently after those key cogs from the Cups years.
While the farm team can definitely be enhanced with who does and how they do player development, IMO, Rockford is on a rebound to churn out some prospects with good to great potential over the next decade.
F: Entwistle, Hagel, Kurashev, Sikura, Soderlund
D: Beaudin, Carlsson, Gilbert, Krys
G: Delia, Lankinen
Soon to enter the fold:
F: Barratt, Teply, Wise
D: Mitchell, Moberg, Regula, Shea, Vlasic
G: Gravel
Some won't make it while others will not have a spot due to a numbers game and can be used as trade chips to gain other assets of need. |

Anyone see the Nucks/Wild game last night? Tyler Motte has really developed into a solid bottom 6 guy with Vancouver. Guy was all over the place blocking shots and playing the body.

That sounds about right and would be a good strategy. It helps to carve space for the youth. Hoping for a sequential graduation of D prospects to the Hawks. At least one person but ideally no more than two. |

I think some of us are being added to trade packages. Heard that I may be on my way to an undisclosed team in the Eastern Conference as a throw in. |

Motte is developing slowly but surely into an effective 4th liner and penalty killer. Not on the same level as my dislike of the trades losing Jokiharju and Danault but I wasn't a fan of Motte being shipped out either. |

Fox 2 questions or observations rockford needs a new coach that can devlop players better than king, any ideas on who that should be? Next are the hogs playing the same system that the hawks are playing? Thanks for your input. |

No team on the NHL has their defenders chasing guys above the circles or abandoning the front of the goal to go after a player with their back to the ice on the half boards.
There Hawks have just as much talent as the Islanders, Jackets, Jets, Coyotes, Wild if not more in some cases.
Their problems are the guy behind the bench is giving bad instructions, making poor roster decisions, has no clue how to make adjustments and behaves like a smug wiener. Which could be cool if he ever won anything of note.
Even with the flawed roster the biggest problem is behind the bench. - fattybeef
What about the defense Q was running when Samuleson was the defensive coach (supposedly the guru), after they launched Kitchen with his no touch type of defense? Q was the head coach, he had final say over what defense to run.

Keith will be 74 years old.
Boqvist isn't ready.
Murphy is good.
Mitchell has played zero pro games.
DeHaan is good for one solid hit.
Seabrook can't get through an airport metal detector. - mohel
I'd rather make the commitment to go full-on young on D and let Boqvist, Beaudin,Mitchell, and Gilbert play with growing pains with a few veterans. |

I wonder if teams that are interested in the Hawks UFA's are asking permission to talk to their agents about a new deal before they agree to a trade. They might pay a little higher price if they thought they had an agreement on a new contract with Crow, Lehner and Gus.
The same could be said for an RFA. But the player has much less power in those situations.

If so, will the 2 teams also swap Crawford & Quick? |
