same thing happened to Simmonds (of course Couturier's worth is more). - nastyflyergirl

Tonight is a very exciting game. First Nation arena hasn’t been friendly to us. I’ve seen us lose live there twice. It sucks!! - SuperSchennBros
Nationwide not First Nation.
I have seen them lose there too, but have seen them lose there other places that are much worse like Newark, NJ. |

very true but Coots skillset is very much different and lends to longer success.

Couturier is already on a riduculously one-sided deal in Philly's favor. His agent, Gilles Lupien, has a rep as one of the most compromise-friendly guys in the business but he's going to demand that Couturier get a huge bump in pay when it comes up again. No hometown discount next time. Can't blame them. Couturier has been extremely underpaid during the prime of his career. - bmeltzer
As long as they don’t try to LeClair the guy.

Coots is only 27. I think he has more than 5 years left. Even if his offense doesnt remain at this peak he will always be a great defensive center
I think G's career will last longer than 2 more years especially if he plays at wing.
I believe we will be Cup contenders when we ice a line-up that allows Coots and G to be "3rd line" players. I'm thinking 2-3 years down the road if/when TK, Farabee, Frost, etc. take on the scoring responsibility and G and Coots are more complimentary. That is a strong line-up. Hart and the D are rounding out nicely.
Patty and Lindblom situations put pressure on other prospects to hit but that how I was seeing our team 2-3 years down the road. TK and Lindblom were/are already starting to play larger roles. |

Couturier is what 26? He is in his prime. No reason why he cant stay at a 1st line center level for another 5 years or so. I dont see any of those young players being better overall than Couturier. Giroux is a different story. He's 32. |

I could see Coots staying in top 6. My point was if we have the luxury of having Coots and G as complimentary pieces as opposed to carrying the load, we have a strong line-up. Patty's uncertain future really affects my plan. |

It's more about building a stronger lineup below Couturier rather than above him. He is the teams best forward and should be for quite a while moving forward. |

Wait what on Coots?
You do know he is 27 right. Honestly if in 2-3 years he is just a complementary piece then somehow the Flyers traded for McJeebus and Kucherov . |

Bergeron is 34, still very productive as a 1C. I don't see why Coots can be SIMILAR |

I would be shocked if he gets 5 or close to it next season. since he left the flyers he has played in 76 games and has 8 goals and 18 assists and is a minus 12. he has gone from consistent 25-32 goal scorer to falling off a cliff. really a shame. i do hope he is dealt to a real contender and gets a shot at the cup. |

I definitely want to see the team make a move at the deadline. and not for one of these "usual suspects" rental players I.e) kreider or JGP. It's on management to send a message not only to the team, but to the fans as well that they're all in and goin for it. I'm not sure how staying put matches them up better against the likes of wsh, pitt, bos, or tampa. They have a legit shot at making a run this year. The home record is outstanding, goaltending has been more solid than in years past.
names I like: gaudreau, reinhart, forsberg, domi, tatar... |

Management did send a message like that..They fired the GM and coach, hired a proven winning coach, signed Hayes, traded for Nisk and so on.
I couldn't disagree more and I don't see them having a legit shot this year and as such Im not willing to move any of the prospects\picks it would take to land the players you listed.
Next year and the subsequent years maybe but not this year. Keep letting the young players get experience. |

since his first full NHL season, Giroux has played in 836 of a possible 846 games. Since making the NHL Voracek has played in 906 of a possible 928 games.

Don't think it would be a complete hedge of the future. The farm is filled to the gills with prospects and potential. I never saw Hakstol as a quality fit. Sure he got em to the post season, twice; but think that more had to do with quality production from your star players. Are you saying just scrap another year of Giroux and Vora in what's left of their prime. Let them lose another step, while the influx of new talent and speed blows past them? |
