I’ll be home in 7 weeks, back to work. Just in time for the M Cup. Rockets are lucky they’re hosting this year, otherwise........

Too late! Hunkulese traded you the Habs for Gallagher and a 2020 2nd.

Either sign Brodie to a team friendly deal or trade him. Same goes for Hamonic. The return these d are getting, it makes no sense to not.
This team needs a kick in the a$$ so badly! What’s the sense of losing 1 or both for nothing to go one and done in the playoffs?
Treliving just trying to save his job!

Yup! 100%.

This whole idea to stand pat because the Pacific sucks and we might sneak through is mind boggling.

I would rather build a team that can be in the hunt for a while .

So the Jets win tonight and now are the first wildcard team and arizona and the blues are scoreless in the 3rd, come on st louis beat the coyotes, and what the hell is wrong with the Oilers they should be losing without McJesus and one of their top defenders.

Trading Hamonic and Brodie now makes them worse this year and doesn't set them up to be in the hunt for a while. They not going to get back anything that's going to help them for 3 or 4 years. They have a better shot this year of making the finals this year than they probably will for a long time. Why do something stupid like trading half of their top 4?

Not good when you’re hoping for other teams to win/lose... if you have to scoreboard watch the Flames aren’t quite there.

When Jason Zucker to the Flames was rumored at last year's deadline, all I could think was they don't need Zucker, they need Staal (or a real 2C). Backlund's a fine player, a poor man's Krejci, but he under-performs in the 2C and is overpaid for 3C.

I like Jankowski too, and I think he'll score 20 goals in the league someday, but not on the flames. If you can flip Jankowski and a mid round pick for Kase, that's a deal to make every day. Yes, he's missed time with concussions but Kase shoots the puck and this Flames team could really use a guy like that. If the puck is on his stick in the offensive zone, he is going to fire it at the net, every time, that's what he does.

Finally, if you aren't going to give Sam Bennett a real shot to play 2C you need to move him to someone that will, and Buffalo does fit the bill.

What do you propose then if we trade Bennett to Buffalo to get in return. Bennett is actually starting to look pretty good now playing centre. If Calgary were to make a deal with Buffalo it would have to see Reinhart coming back someway. I'm not sure what else Buffalo would want other then Bennett.

Don't make me slap you monkey man lol. Yes the Flames aren't quite there I agree but it sure makes it entertaining and hell its better for them to fight to get into a playoff spot unlike last year where they spent the last few games at the country club going cheerio lads, isn't this great does anybody want another ice tea or cranberry juice hahaha

Well it would take a lot more than Bennett

I don’t think the sabres are trading Reinhart unless they get their socks knocked off

I dont see a one-for-one trade between these two teams. Middlestadt and a defensive upgrade (ala Colin Miller) seems like the framework for a fair trade to me.

I agree. This is why I am okay with the idea that we stand pat and see how things turn out. If things go horribly wrong it will be much easier to fix in the summer anyway, and if they make the playoffs the fact tbat they had to fight tooth and nail.for it could benefit them greatly. All you have to do is make the playoffs for a chance to win it all. Afrer that, anything can happen.

The Oil have looked pretty damn impressive without McD and Klefbomb.

They are hitting their stride at the right time. Holland should be going all in.

I do not feel the Flames have the coaching and systems in place to pull off some major upsets.

Bogosian's contract will be terminated today it sounds like - might not be a bad security blanket for the Flames - a free (no trade capital), NHL calibre defenceman who plays the right side and plays a rugged style... Probably get him for league minimum the rest of the year.
