Guy I played with went there, sponsored by a beer company...could go and get free pints anytime - road trips were crazy he said, they pretty much became alcoholics.

I cannot confirm or deny this story...

but it does seem eerily similar...

I picked up playing there a) cause they wanted me to - Canuck who could skate, who was in shape (I was then) b) travel was never more than 2.5 - 3 hours, and almost always on weekends so it didn't interfere with my real job c) it was a blast

none of the guys thought they "still had a shot" at some grand dream of making it... they just were in it for a good time.. and we did have a good time ...

"money for nothing and your chicks for free"

FYI our team official sponsor at the time (latter 80s) was named Ottakringer - there's your google challenge for the day!

I'd be curious to know where your cousin played... 'cause some of the stuff the Euros did was completely nuts... short experience there - two seasons in second division...

insane.
like run for the team bus insane after games...

- BorjeFan4Ever

Never really asked for details at that point but yes he did play about a decade in Europe and only a few years in North America. So I would have to assume this was from Europe.

All I know is my Richard didn't ever get tied to anything anywhere I played.

Is 25 minutes a normal amount of time for a practise? That seems incredibly short.

That's the average Leafs practise time. They said they had an unusual 45 minute practise. 45 mins is unusual? That seems very strange.

Does Tavares seem less than thrilled since his wingers were moved to Matthews? He seems to be kinda bummy out there. I've never seen him float around like he has the last month.

he was the most consistent player on the team last year imo. this year? nah. very inconsistent with many invisible nights.

with that said i have only watched like half the games this year so yeah
