Yep, him and the guy with white hair and a goatee... just wondering if anybody knows who they are. Clearly some money... |

Done.
Not sure that gets us a top pairing D, but probably a top 4 though. - gravyface
One of them gets a 2nd pair RHD. The other plus Nylander gets the top pair D. |

Relying on the refs has gotten the Leafs the least PPs in the league and injuries. Good times. - aminnes
I know. I'm just saying, the way they're pushing the game these days, they're telling players they can't police themselves. But if they can't, it's up to the refs to do so. Unfortunately, the refs are bad at it and wildly inconsistent.
UG actually has the right of it. The way things are now, you have to have dirty, smart players that just walk the line, since you can't count on the refs to do their (frank)ing jobs properly.
That's why I was asking Clifford to go sit on the Pens goalie after Hornquist ran into Andersen, because I knew the refs sure wouldn't punish the Pens for it...

I don't know if Johnsson or Kerfoot alone does it. Maybe Johnsson, but top 4 RHD are a rare commodity. |

It's sad the league pretends to give a damn but really they don't. |

2nd pair D are going for two 2nd round picks so it's not that crazy rare or expensive either. Might have to add a little or get a pending UFA and sign him ASAP like a Brodie. |

This is also why I was earlier saying they should just say "(frank) it" and start playing dirtier. It's not like playing squeaky clean helps us at all.
I think at some point, the refs try to balance things, so if you keep committing infractions, they just stop "noticing" at some point in order to not give one team too many pp's.
Dirty teams after a while, the refs just seem to give them more rope because they don't want to just keep giving their opponents power plays. So they get away with more, while the clean teams get called on anything in order to keep the pp's close. |

Dillon got traded too. There's been a few. Those guys are all 2nd pairing guys. A guy like Severson or Vantanen won't cost that much. They eat minutes, don't put up points and teams like the Devils want younger players and draft picks. |

Maybe, but Severson's contract is golden. That's gotta be worth more than a Kerfoot. |

He screened on teh first goal...
He looks like a slower, less skilled version of Tyler Ennis. We could have signed Ennis for virtually nothing... |
