That's funny. I knew my kid didn't care for hockey when he was six.

We put him in - at his request (and after a couple of years of skating, so he didn't go in cold, but skating lessons are a far cry from playing hockey as I'm sure you know). They rotated goalie, and when it was his turn I took him out with the gear on, and taught him how to get down and get up. Some rudimentary things like poke checks, and so on. It turns out that at 6, being able to scramble and poke check makes you a darn good goalie.

He didn't care at all.

Three games later, when he was back out, he scored the game winning goal with 1 minute left. He didn't even celebrate.

On the car ride him, I was trying to pump his tires and you could see the, "Who cares?" written all over him.

Broke my heart. Now he plays soccer. SOCCER.

That's going to be tough when you look at their schedule. I believe they have one of the hardest remaining schedules. 6th hardest schedule remaining according to NHL.com.

I would think so. I don't know much about their private lives, but Spezza, Muzzin, Hyman, Clifford and Tavares may be the only ones who are actually married.

I think guys like Kapanen and Nylander have girlfriends who live in their home countries, and I also believe Marner and Matthews are single. That makes for a lot of freedom for young guys with a lot of money.

It may not be a bad thing.

They made this mess.

If they play like they mean it, they're in, and maybe they're rolling because they've stepped up against some really good competition.

If they play like they were, they're out, and they can nurse those wounds and hopefully learn from it. But I would honestly imagine there would be some sweeping changes to alter the team's culture.
