Could be, maybe Barrie for a 1st and a prospect. Then flip the pick and prospect to another team for a Top 4 RHD
- PatC80

As long as the D is an upgrade.

I’m guessing we add a d and keep Barrie

At this point, no one knows what will happen, but it would make sense to move Barrie.. Risk losing him for nothing.

This morning, on TSN radio, they were discussing a Barrie for Stetcher + trade.

There may be something there..

Just spit-balling, but Barrie for Stetcher and Gaudette is a good trade for us

- PatC80

Why would stetcher be a good get?

I’d rather not make the team worse this year.

If it helps us now and next year sure. If not no thanks.

I think that was the plan anyways, so no loss really. It’s not like we’re rebuilding.

Been waiting for something like this to deep dive into how bad the Leafs are ...d wise

https://mapleleafshotstov...ne-ahead-of-the-deadline/

Leafs average at what is mentioned a lot

Are the Leafs Weak at Allowing Cross-Slot and other High Danger Passes?
No. They are average.

I asked Corey Sznajder (@Shutdownline) this question. Corey has built up a remarkable database of manually tracked passing and zone exit/entry data. His data shows that high danger passing plays in the Leafs zone – cross-slot (4.4%) and passes from behind the goal line (4.3%) are average this season.

Also this is a no brainer, its worth reading the RAPM notes on each D... its pretty clear they need to get a top pairing D...Rielly is good...but weak in his own end ..its a problem

Key RAPM Takeaways
As a result of key injuries, Tyson Barrie has played the most minutes on the team despite having one of the worst xGA/60’s. His offense does not make up for his defense. This has been a perfect storm as far as exposing him more to top forwards and weakening the defense.

Had a good year last year playing top 4 mins against tough competition.

They’d be buying low.

Frank Seravelli says the Flames offered New Jersey a package built around Noah Hanifin for Taylor Hall earlier this season and the Devils said no.

Several reasons;

1) RHD
2) Young, controllable RFA
3) can defend a bit better than Barrie

Sherro wanted a full on rebuild.

Likely why he took the picks and the owners were not happy with that.

You could be right.. I'm fine with Barrie staying past the deadline or being traded.
