Get rid of Tavares and Nylander. This would fetch a lot more than a couple of good d-men. Who'd wanna take on Tavares's salary though....vastly overpaid. - 93Cup

The dream team has turned into another nightmare. How much longer will that dried up old maple leaf keep fluttering in the air? |

Holland on Puljujarvi: "Nobody's really asked".
Dubas should ask. That's a decent piece to get for Barrie to either develop on a cheap ELC (makes it way easier to trade Kerfoot / Johnsson) or to use as part of a package in the future. Rebuild his value with a season playing RW beside Tavares. - JohnFergusonJr
So, no on Stetcher a guy that played top 4 minutes last year, but yes to Puljujarvi, a guy not even playing in the NHL? |

I think Holland is more playing with Puljujarvi and his agent. Definitely teams were kicking tires on him earlier in the year. Well - it was definitely reported.
I think someone had suggested that he might be best suited for a reclamation for reclamation trade - like Lias Andersson or Honka or something like that. But if the Leafs could get in on him, I'd be down with it. |

I find Puljujarvi intriguing. I don't know if he washed out in Edmonton because of attitude, lack of opportunity, a mixture, environment, or . . .something else - like he just isn't an NHL calibre player.
But there's enough there that I'd want to have a look in a different environment - like ours. |

Is the intrigue because he was the 4th overall pick in the Matthews draft?
If Puljujarvi cost Adam Brooks and Nic Petan. I would do that trade.. Puljujarvi hasn't shown anything to warrant a big return |

21 years old, 6'4, 201, 4th overall pick not too long ago and crushing it in Finland with actual NHL potential.
Yeah, I'll go with the young, big bodied, top prospect, thanks.
Not the guy who's tiny for his position, scores in his own net and needs to spin a water bottle 5 times to play 15 min a night. |

Is the intrigue because he was the third overall pick in the Matthews draft?

the reason he is still not traded is they think he has value and they want a decent return, most likely prospect with potential |

Agree with this, but I would expect that someone would be willing to pay more than the Leafs are able to at this point. I believe the Leafs have no 1st, no 3rd and no 5th in this year's draft.

Huge buy low opportunity. A guy like that, you put with Tavares or Matthews and you're laughing.
If we're going to have 11 AAV players, at least you can capitalize on putting other players with high end skills on ELC with them so they can realize their potential. Crosby has been doing it for over a decade with relative unknowns or 3rd liners and made them look great. Our guys should be able to do the same. |

I’m hearing that these are the offers: Severson deal includes Engval, Korshkov and 2nd
Manson deal is Kapanen Dermott likely a prospect in return from ANA maybe a pick

Holland's not an idiot. Well. Maybe he is. I don't know. But I agree that Puljujarvi should fetch a better prospect than we'd want to offer up (i.e., Lias Andersson is probably a better return than Jeremy Bracco). |
