Haven't heard if he's available or not, but he's only at 3.5M, so not sure they'd want to retain unless we coughed up more assets.
Who would you move for E. Staal? - gravyface
Minnesota needs to rebuild. If they're willing to move Dumba and already moved Zucker, Staal should be quietly on the block too.
Depends what they want or need. Kerfoot? Bracco? Mid round picks?
I'd take Foligno too at 50% retained. Another good bottom-six addition. |

c'mon man... you know that Doogie would never acquire Foligno... too tall...
Dumba might squeeze in at 6' as a defender. |

Dermott deserves some patience. He missed the start of the season and has struggled but he is a young defenseman who could play 3/4. Hamonic is fool's gold I think.
Bennett for Kerfoot, sure, depending on the cap I guess. Kind of a meh deal.

Would much rather have Brodie with an extension than Hamonic.
Muzzin and Brodie would be a decent 2nd pair at 10-11 AAV combined. |

Dermott doesn't have a place anymore with Muzzin being re-signed.
He's a small LHD and doesn't score many points. He's essentially been replaced by Sandin as the 3rd pair LHD.
Dermott is also due for a raise the Leafs can't afford to give him.
I like prospects and young players, I think they need time to develop but at this point, that time is for Sandin and Liljegren because they are cheaper, better and younger. If Dermott helps bring in other good pieces, they should do it. |

I agree about some of your points but they certainly can afford Dermott. He won't get much. |

Dermott will get at least a 15% increase. Any way you slice it, he costs more than Sandin and/or Liljegren and he doesn't fit a need anymore. Rather move him as part of a package and get an upgrade at RHD. |
