I think Roussel will be gone in the summer . I think Jake is gone also to get one of those picks back. I like him but he is too inconsistent.

The reason Green and the fans love Motte is because he brings it every shift. Maybe next year Lind and McEwen will be on the big club.

Beagle I would hold onto for one more year.

There are very few actual consistent players under the age of 26 in the league and that's why they get paid 10 million a season.

Jake will be 24 entering his new contract. I wouldn't be trading him when he's probably about to peak in the next couple years, If anything sign him to a mid range deal, you get twice as much having him signed. Example Coleman.

We should be able to get that for Stecher I hope
- VanHockeyGuy

Stecher to Toronto for Marcinin (since you'd have to take some money back due to having a poopty GM) and the highest of the TML 6th round picks. Marincin to the minors.

Every year same story about Jake one of these years he will break out. Still waiting five years later. If or when he breaks out he will be a 25 goal scorer . 25 goal scorers are a lot less rare to find . Most teams have a few.

It's simple Vantel, whether it's JV or ?

You have to give to get, if JB has his sights set on recouping a high pick you'd better pucker up those butt cheeks a bit.

The NHL should be meeting your expectations. I don't see why not.

Turned 26 and has exploded.

AV disliked him in New York because he was inconsistent

Jake has been playing pro hockey now for 5 years . I think we see pretty much what we are going to see.

I do wonder if JB actually cares that much. If he expects the roster to turn over 7-8 players in the next couple of years. Players will have to be moved and picks recouped then. So maybe Van doesn't have a first or second this year but next year they have an extra second and the year after an extra first.

Most teams have a few but what's the cost for them? Toffoli is going to get what, 5+ mill? He's a 25 goal scorer. If you can get Jake for 3.5-4, that's great.

Miller just scored his 24th, a career high, is universally endeared here and is 26. I think if you were a rangers or lightning fan you would have said the exact same thing about him.

Should probably limit the teams scoring. Don't want to score too many goals

I wouldn't give JV more than 3.5 x 4

Toffoli is, or has been, really inconsistent the past three years. 13 goals last year, 24 the year before that and 16 the year before that. I think whoever signs him to a 5+ million dollar contract is making a mistake. I hope it’s not Benning, but I love that he got him to help push for the playoffs.

Benning has had previous interest in Aaron Ekblad
I wonder what kind of package it would take?

He's 24 @ $7.5M, not a huge jump over a new Tanev deal.

Getting creative:

Tanev to Tor for Kapanen, Ceci

Kapanen, Ceci, Virtanen, Rafferty for Ekblad?

Sean Courturier drafted 8th overall. Played 6 seasons and never broke 40 points. Had back to back 76 point seasons and is on track to do that again. 25 when he broke out.

Pearson 27 years old having his best career ppg. Only 4 points from a career high.

William Karlsson 25 when he had a break out season.

Miller’s having his best year but he’s been a pretty consistent producer since his first full year in the league at 22 years old.

22 yrs - 22 goals 43 points
23 yrs - 22 goals 56 points
24 yrs - 23 goals 58 points
25 yrs - 13 goals 47 points
26 yrs - 24 goals 59 points (20 games left)

Toffoli was on pace for more than that on a very bad LA club. Hope he signs here.

He's at 4.5 right now, I don't see him taking a pay cut. Would love for Benning to resign him at 4.5, but not sure that happens unless he really wants to play here.

Just think who the guys are that will be losing their job to young guys coming up in the newsletter 2-3 tears and ask yourself how many 1st and 2nd round picks Benning can recover...

He’s playing with Anze Kopitar, a world class center with 55 points, if he was playing with Adam Gaudette as his center I could buy into your argument, but he’s not, or he wasn’t.
