What would that say to the room about their desire to make the playoffs? I think their feelings would be hurt. - 1970vintage
if you're going to be soft and irresponsible, you shouldn't be here. |

I think you want all hands on deck to make playoffs.
Stecher should be flipped in offseason.
Don’t want to have 2 rookies on D at this time of year.
IMO. - dbot
Stechers not exactly playing an important role, and I don't know if you can move him at the draft for anything more than a very late pick |

Puck off the face man, it doesn’t get any tougher than that. |

How would people feel in general about trading Stecher for either a draft pick or Simmonds and bringing Rafferty up for the rest of the year? - NorthNuck
Yes

If there really are no penalties why does anyone care how long they sign Markstrom for? Give him an 8 year deal with max $ in the first 4 and if he wants to retire after 4 years great, if not, he can play in Utica for the other 4. - 1970vintage
Why are you pivoting to something/one completely unrelated to who we've been talking about? Who's offering Marky 8yrs max $$? He's 30!
You're shifting away from reality - my job here is done. |

We really have no idea how soft this team is, playoffs should give us all a good idea of what needs to be fixed. |

Anyone catch the Hitmen in town last night? How did Woosey look? I know Royals lost in a shootout.
Think they are in to face the Giants tonight or tomorrow. |

I don't think we need the playoffs to show us how soft Stecher really is. |

I’m saying that if there were no penalties teams would offer older players longer deals with as much money at the front as possible with the wink wink nudge nudge retirement deal.
Maybe 8 years is too long, think Whitey cited 6 as the max? |

he also got an unsportsmanlike penalty for chirping the referee because he got hit. |

The CRP might have been introduced because of the Weber/Luongo deals, but it applies to any contract which is front loaded. - 1970vintage
If I remember correctly it applies to a front loaded contract that exceeds a certain percentage of it's final year. Loui's does not exceed that percentage.
I am not a cap expert at all but I do remember hearing that there was a percentage of the final year it could not go over. |

Just defer your knowledge to the cap 'experts' here...all good. |

Ryan Graves and Cale Makar seem to be doing ok.
I guess Graves isnt a rookie cause he played 26 games last year, but you get my point. - Codes1087
I would look at what you could get for Jake in the summer. Maybe recoup a draft pick |

Everyone minus petey, miller, hughes, podkolzin, hoglander should be expendable for the right price. |

According to Bob McKenzie, the #Canucks have been talking to the #Leafs about Dman Tyson Barrie. Mentioned Troy Stecher as a piece that could go back the other way Eyes

Yeah, still not buying it. If there were no repercussions teams wouldn’t care so much about term for older players. |

Got to add the captain and Brock to that list and then I agree. I am not a Bo fan per say but you can't anoint him Captain of our team and trade him 6 months later. |

What did they give up to get him? Kadri and?
I’ve heard from people who have spoken to him directly, he wants to play for the Canucks. Could just wait until July... |

It’s funny how quickly the “untouchable “ list changes.
Start of the year Bo and Brock.
Replaced by hog and JTM now. |

That's fine seeing I am not buying a recapture penalty assigned to Louis retirement.

It would need to be a huge deal to move Brock . I am not there. |
