Lou holding out for more? - boilermaker100
Sorokin saw Gustaffson's name on the roster as a Dman and immediately had 2nd thoughts. |

The ELC max is 925K. Include the A and B bonuses for 2.8M. What type of contract does he want ? - boilermaker100
I could be wrong but if a player is over 25 he is a straight UFA with no requirement for an ELC.
Sorokin turns 25 on August 5th.
He will be a Group 6 UFA with his KHL tenure counting as games played requirement. |

generally considered the best goalie not in the NHL. has put up huge consistent numbers in the KHL .934 over the last 4 years about 110 starts. - kmw4631
27.5 starts per year? |

Sounds to me like the deal is Lehner back to the NYI for Sorokin's rights straight up. |

Thanks didn't know he was that old. That sheds a different light on the contract.

I would also assume Sorokin has to sign a contract with us first before any deal is done. |

Why would the Islanders sign him when they have Varlamov signed for the next 4 years?

If you don’t mind a few facts, CC has missed time with 2 concussions. He’s been fine for a while now, and is likely to make it through this season uninjured (now I’ve jinxed him).
Lots of other NHLers have had 2 or more concussions. Crosby? Toews?
Signing CC to a short term 2 year deal At reasonable money makes some sense. He’s still showing that he can be a #1, and he’d be a hell of a backup if the
Hawks go younger in goal. - scottak
Teams haven't been taking shots at Crow this year because they know Lehner would replace him and take one of their guys down. Once Lehner is traded they will be taking shots at Crow again. |

He could have been tradeable since he's 31 and his deal is a $5MM AAV. But...he has a full NMC...
Griess' deal is up and they will need another goalie. Varly gets hurt a lot too. |

I am hearing more, regarding what someone else mentioned. Saad + Lehner, or Saad + Crawford, to Avalanche. The return is Alex Newhook and a 1st round pick + more. Stay tuned. This would be good for both teams. |

When you checked the stats did you notice that the Bruins lead the entire league in points. They are looking for a complimentary piece to fall in with a pretty talented group. He also is only 24, signed through next year and even then is only a RFA. Think of the Hawks obtaining Vermette. We gave up a 1st round pick and Dahlbeck for a guy who was 33 had 13 goals and 22 assists and was a rental. That is how you win Cups. - -Doh-
Sikura would have cost less and he's a for sure NHL player. |

LOL Sorokin's comparable is Bobroski, so maybe Stan is having second thoughts until Sorokin's mental anaysis is ready to review? |

Tyler, unfortunately that lineup is about 90% the same as this year's. Based on the last few posts maybe Lehner's days are numbered and you can substitute 50 at a few million less in goal. Also which 12 will appear next season, the 40 goal (I'll be happy with 25-30) or the 15 goal scorer? I'm not optimistic about next season. Stan's hands are tied due to the aging expensive core with NMC's, lack of cap space and the unknowns re the LTIR players. - boilermaker100
I'm with you. I would like more sweeping changes but I just haven't figured out how they do that with the roster they currently have. |

Per @SFedotoF Ilya Sorokin's rights are gonna be traded to the Blackhawks soon. I'm hearing the opposite. Lou met Sorokin's agent. There're some requirements from Ilya's side, A and B bonuses and Euro clause. 99% chance Sorokin coming to the NHL next year #Isles #Blackhawks - mrpaulish
This is a weird one.
It looks like there was some miscommunication here, however, I have been told there is a lot going on with the Hawks right now. Stan is working it... I guess just not for Sorokin. |

I hope you meant red font??? You can't be comparing Sikura to Kase? Sikura 1 goal and 13 points in 47 NHL games. |

Good. Lankinen, with no NHL experience, should get 1/2 of that. $1 mil for 2 or 3 years. Same as Delia. |
