Is GMJR looking to pick up a D-man or O?

And if the Leafs are serious about moving Kapanen would the Pens have what the Leafs may be asking for?

Schultz? Meh...he's been bad.

Yeah... We don't have what they're looking for IMO.

Glad he won minus the fact I want Carolina to lose. After the first two shots scored on him I was concerned for him lol

That's funny, when I read "Marlies Zamboni driver," I thought Ek was making a joke. But no, it really was him. I didn't realize that an emergency goalie could play for either team.

It's crazy that there are really only 4 teams in each conference who I would say are out of playoff contention. As a result, I don't expect a lot of moves. NYR is only 4 points back and CAR, a team ahead of them, just lost a goalie and a defenseman for a while, so why would they trade Kreider? MIN is also only 4 points out so why would they trade Staal as has been rumored? Because of the stupid playoff format, MTL is only 6 points out and TOR is floundering.

The Panthers would get in over the Habs and speaking of the Habs they have the most games played. Panthers are up 6 points on the Habs with 2 games in hand. And 3 wild card teams have 3 games in hand with even more points ahead. The Habs are out for sure.

But it's 3 teams from each division, so the wild card teams are not necessarily competing with MTL, and FLA is only 4 points up. MTL is definitely still in it.

Ahh the pens app standings have the Habs at 64 points...still they won't make it though. Don't be that guy that said the Ducks would push for the playoffs lol. Panthers still have 2 games in hand brotha.Would you put money down on the Habs making the playoffs?

Don't look now but Philly is just 3 points out of 1st.
- Hockey66

They have 2 more games played..and we have 2 more regulation wins than them. Also Panthers and Leafs also have 3 more regulation wins than the Habs so EVEN if they tie in points Habs are getting pushed out.

I think the Wild will miss unless Duby starts killing it for them. They actually have games in hand on teams but they have to start winning now. I doubt they make it.

EK tying Jumbo Joe to the Pens. Welp, it was a nice dream to have. That basically puts the mush on it.

I'm not advocating or promoting the notion, or even think it's a good bet, I'm just saying that there are very few teams this year who are definitely out of it right now. 4-6 points is not much to make up over the course of the next 6 weeks. I wouldn't want to be the GM who throws in the towel and starts trading away players and have to explain himself to the team and the fans. Eventual champion STL only had 72 points at this point last year.

Jumbo Joe in a healthy lineup...

Zucker-Sid-Simon/Bjug
Kahun-Geno-Rust
McCann-Joe-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blue-Tanev

I'm good with all of that.

I saw that last night too. Really hope that JR isn't considering either one of them.

Jumbo Joe as 4th line C on the PK and 2nd PP would be totally fine with me...

Hahah of course they are it's that time of year where they pick up net negative baggage.

These guys seem to like the idea of Bogo...I do not but as always would gladly eat crow....

I saw that as well. JR is trying to make a crazy 3rd/4th line with Big Joe, Simmonds and either Hornqvist or Bjugstad. Just a big slow punishing line. Which can go well or horribly wrong. Which I guess with our 4 minute 4th lines it is kinda worthless. I dont mind Bogosian he is a good depth player.

The only way I can look at this with any kind of positive spin is that even if they did sign Bogo as a depth dman, it doesn't necessarily mean he gets time. Streit came here and barely played.

As far as Simmonds goes, I mean look, he's slower now and was never that fast to begin with. He still has some offensive pulse to him and can be physical. I personally don't put a lot of stuck in needing to get bigger or more physical, but if I'm trying to look for some pluses.

My guess is if they picked up Simmonds it's because they were simply out of options and this was the best possible move, and if they go for Bogo it's for a similar reason. Bogo is really low risk and probably won't play much if he's a disaster.

Personally, with every growing day more teams are suffering bad injuries and I think other teams will be more desperate than the Pens in pursuing Bogosian. I think the way the prices of been set teams will be aggressive in terms of promises to him of the opportunities to play that he'll get.

Okay... I thought it meant once you get to do many flags you're demoted to another team such as Detroit or NJ.
