Where is Mitch Marner? Is he drowning in coke these days? I always thought he was overpaid but I can't believe hes been this bad.
We need to sell (trade Barrie) at the deadline. Send the team a message that they deserved this. If they have any professional integrity, they will figure it out. If not, this group isn't it anyway.
I was against trading Matthews/Marner/Nylander. Now, I think one of the wingers has to go for a top D. The team dynamics need to change. - harza
Nylander has to go. I've been saying this for a year and a half. |

You’d think the writing would have been on the wall sooner, but here we are!
He has no idea what he’s doing. Waiting this long to address the backup issue, then does nothing to address the porous defence.
He’s a phoney. Like the Gull. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I agree. A lot of the hard core Leaf fans I know feel the same way. You can't ignore chemistry and grit on D.

Everyone talking as if dubas has created this team that is screwed forever if it doesn't win this year and has failed horribly at it. Do or die season.
What did I miss? Is this the last NHL season? Is there some kind of max moves limit he's at for the rest of his life? Did the teams core suddenly turn 38?
People need to get off the (frank)ing ledge and stop acting as though there's no going back. The teams young stars aren't even close to 25 and are under contract for half a decade.
This is the first year he's really swung for it and it hasn't worked... Oh well. There's no shortage of manageable options available and plenty of time to sort it out.
It's so leafy to demand a GMs head after not having a cup after a couple years on the job its nauseating. - joel878
I guess you missed the part where I said "don't fire Dubas"... but carry on.
"swing for the fences"...
how did he swing for the fences... 3 of the bigger moves he made were to clear cap space.
they chose to give the kids the keys to the Bentley... and the kids are driving the Bentley into a ditch.
of course it can get better next year... but if you don't take away their "toys"... how are the kids going to notice? |

Well by trading for Barrie he swung harder than the year before.
But yes, the majority of his time on the job has been spent locking up players and trying to find homes for dead weight on the cap.
You might not be screaming for his head, but back read a bit. Many are.
It's just as immature of a look as the crowd that comes out to talk about parades after a few wins. |

please don't ignite the poor goaltending delusion YET AGAIN.
seriously, not Andersen's fault. - BorjeFan4Ever
The whole team played like poop. Andersen made a lot of good saves.
But .872 isn't good enough. Don't care about anything else. That's the number I'm looking at and it's not good enough. |

Nobody did anything tonight. Literally.
Nylander's contract just (frank)s up the balance of this team. We need $ to have a proper defence, and we need to give up assets to build it. The guy is totally one dimensional, and too inconsistent for my liking. He also is symptomatic of a forward group that would not throw a body check if their life depended on it. Gotta go. |

look at one stat... maybe its not a good idea to ask your goaltender to stop 6 breakaways....
