This is why you're receiving grief. It's just not true. He's nowhere near as much of the problem as everyone else. - floater_willy
How much of a problem he is comparatively is entirely up for debate, but also not the debate I'm trying to get into right now. Saying none whatsoever is delusional on all fronts. That's my only point. |

Well he needs to learn how to or get a new job. It's his job to stop pucks. That's it. When Marner isn't scoring, people ride him. They don't make excuses. When Barrie plays like poop, people ride him.
Andersen isn't infallible. There are no excuses for him anymore than anyone else. - UsernameUnknown
Andersen isn't even in the top 5 problems this team has.
Maybe not even top 10.
Nobody is saying Andersen is perfect or infallible. He's just not worthy of as much blame as some of you people are giving him because the situation in front of him is an impossible situation for him to reasonably be able to play well behind.
He's proven, year after year, even when facing the most shots, playing the most games, behind bad defensive teams, that he can put up very good numbers. He hasn't changed. The team in front of him has become worse at playing defense. That's what's really happening here. That's what needs to change. |

don't waste your breath.
always amazes me.... almost violent need to pick on one player or the other, irrationally defending regular do-nothings like Nylander... yet so easily jump on the guy who has to clean up the mess almost every night.
the team as a whole clearly illustrated that they are CAPABLE of playing a team game, and responsible defensively... when they want to or when they are awake enough to do so.
they are CAPABLE...they just simply don't want to often. - BorjeFan4Ever
This is laughably hypocritical. |

Unforgivable!
7th best SV% over the past 5 years, having faced the most shots and playing the 4th most games? Irrelevant. He should always stop every shot in every circumstance. If a goal goes in, blame the goalie. Because Toronto. - JohnFergusonJr
I had to watch Cam (frank)ing Ward for 13 years, followed up by Petr Mrazek, James Reimer and an actual (frank)ing zamboni driver that works for the opposing team.

andersen is 99% not to blame for the team's problems this season. blaming andersen is absolutely ludicrous. |

I’d read it if he drinks bleach. Even if I don’t, he should still drink bleach. |

See, that's what I'm saying about taking it square in the bumhole when someone lumps him into the conversation.
Yes he did have a great game on Thursday, the team in front of him also played far better.
And because of that no one is supposed to say his name when it comes to his other 15ish suspect starts? During which both him and the team in front of him have largely been poop?
You guys act like Andersen is your little sister and someone's offending her. (frank)ing get over it. - joel878
what if I like taking square in the sphincter ? and I'm just goading you on? and you're taking the bait every time?
maybe Andersen is my little sister? |

Then you would need to get a life just as much as uggie, but you'd be more validated for taking the criticism personally then you previously were so that's a win I'd say. 🤷♂️ |

In no particular order.
1. Weak defensemen.
2. Weak team work ethic.
3. Weak coaching.
4. Weak GM.
5. Physically weak team.
6. Mentally weak team.
7. Weak PK (lately PP looks embarrassing too).
8. Inconsistency effort game to game.
9. Weak shot / chance suppression.
10. Weak forwards on back checks and their Ozone time usually sucks too, no cycle game to speak of whatsoever most of the time.
You're welcome. |

Andersen is a good goalie, but under-performing like the rest of the team and therefore deserves equal criticism along with the rest of the team. Pretty simple fact. |
