tyson fury knows how to make an entrance

Too bad Tyson Barrie doesn’t know how to play defence.

I had to watch Cam (frank)ing Ward for 13 years, followed up by Petr Mrazek, James Reimer and an actual (frank)ing zamboni driver that works for the opposing team.

You guys don't get to complain about goaltending

- BINGO!

Cam Ward won you a Cup so I'd take that trade.

Certain Leafs fans reach a certain point with almost every goalie and then BOOM, scapegoated.

This is also laughably hypocritical.

this loss feels like a personal failure to me

Feels like a zamboni driver ripped out your soul and drove over it in slow motion.

Andersen is a good goalie, but under-performing like the rest of the team and therefore deserves equal criticism along with the rest of the team. Pretty simple fact.
- UsernameUnknown

How much blame does Andersen deserve for the powerplay... I mean - he's out there for the entire time... doesn't do ANYTHING.

damn Andersen.

Simple fact is that the dip in his numbers is directly related to his team / defense being atrocious in front of him. Injuries, bad defensemen, forwards that don't care and a coach that gives zero (frank)s about employing a system that takes pressure off the goalie.

If it was a one off game, I'd be more inclined to agree. But he's been terrible since January and as much of the problem as everyone else.
- UsernameUnknown

How long has Rielly been out and how long has it been since most of the team gave a Frank about defending?

Andersen has a career SV% of .917. He didn't start to suck overnight.
No goalie playing for THIS Leafs team has a SV% better than .908.
What does that tell you about TEAM defense?

The Canucks will be Canada’s team this playoffs.

Jump on the bandwagon now.

- DrunkenCanuck

you do realize that when the Canucks played the Bruins in the final (and lost sorry)..

and even though there's decades of dislike of the Bruins... most Canadian fans didn't particularly want Vancouver to win?

why do you think that is?

Not having Rielly certainly has hurt the Leafs D but even when he was healthy, there were plenty of chances and goals with Rielly on the ice. He's not a defensive wizard, he's just better than Barrie and Sandin.

Problems with this team's defensive problems is a personnel issue and a coaching issue. They simply do not have the right players to play the right roles and a coach that doesn't employ a system that keeps the Leafs defensively competitive.

If any of us thought this team deserves to compete in the playoffs, that thought should be gone after tonight. Seriously. Eklunds source the Zamboni driver shut the door on this team tonight. Tear it down. We don't deserve nice things.

Tonight’s win by the Hurricanes really proves how ill-prepared the Leafs are for big-boy hockey. Everyone here is freaking out about their captain, the coach, the D, Marner & Nylander, but let’s be honest, all of their jobs are safe, it’s just a mediocre team. Some great nights, and some hilarious losses like tonight. What an embarrassment.

None. Because that wouldn't make any sense. Like your logic in thinking Andersen is perfect and can do no bad.

Yeah it's pretty brutal right now, it's not even about the players themselves, it's about determination and commitment. They really are, and should be, embarrassed cant be proud of anything after tonight.

no they won't everyone has their own breaking point. this is 53 years of this futile bullpoop with this team. anyone under 53 years of age has never seen this team win a damn cup and yet the organization has expectations for the fans to be the very best in the league spending well over top dollar for everything involving this team. now there's a real threat of the tank nation plan appearing to head down the trail that leads to a tree that bares no fruit. they may lose patience but it won't matter because the corporations will prop the team up no problem.
