If Stecher played like that all year no one would be talking trade. The question is can they play lik that regularly for the playoffs and playoff run?

I like at the end of the game Canucks did not take the foot off the gas and more or less showed the Bruins a big FU and they tried to score the 10 th goal. "We are not afraid of you"

And Eriksson. Roussel has been really quiet . I know he is injured but the signing has less impact as more time sweeps away for recovery .

Comes down to cost and chemistry. Where does Simmonds play? Again it would come down to cost because Simmonds is a bottom 6 on this team. Come playoffs, you want extra bodies but Van's got a full roster plus Zac Mac, Leivo, Boeser who could all be healthy by then.

I'd upgrade over Stecher just because he gets legit lit up every game but paying a big cost for a player who is going to just take his spot. IDK if it's actually worth it. Especially with the price of older vet D are going for like Andy Greene for a 2nd and prospect. WTF.

I don't know if it comes down to cost ( My opinion) I think it comes down to a salary dump. Right now Canucks have 7 mil in cap space with the LTIR. They could easily afford Simmonds and leave Brock on LTIR for 21 games. I think Jim is not as dumb as people give him credit for and want to move a bad contract , give away another prospect and then take Simmonds.

You've got a hard no for Simmonds. I agree to what cost though.

Fitzs was saying yesterday how they want players that are going to be there and help the younger players develop.

I think Vancouver should make a larger deal with NJ if they want to actually upgrade.

Simmonds replaces Roussel on the 3rd line and Severson replaces Stecher on 3rd pairing. Plus he is signed for years and you don't have to worry about re-signing Tanev.

Easier to sign Toffoli.
