I'm warming up to Simmons a bit if we can move another guy out like Sutter. That opens up a spot next year for Zac Mac or another rookie to fill in.

Something like:

To Vancouver: Simmons
To NJ: Goldy, Sutter, 3rd in 2021

Did they have to build a bed for him or did he just sleep in the stables with the other horses?

The Canucks have had a pack mentality over the last seven games. If they can continue that then they don't need to hire a Simmonds.

If you can get Bo to play like he did last night this team can be a serious threat.

I hope last night will be used as a stepping stone to show them what they can be.

It was the kind of statement we needed all around. I was pretty dam surprised and i am one of the few that actually like the makeup of this squad.

I can't begin to say how happy I am for a Toffoli type player with a shoot first mentality.

I really hope Brock can get back to that type of thinking.

He didnt play last night in that loss.

I think JB should somehow look to replace sutter on the 4th. He was noticeably bad for all 3 goals against in a 9-3 win (which is hard to do). Our 4th is by far the weakest part of our lineup and motte is a better PKer than Sutter. Not sure the answer is obviously timashov, but man sutter needs to go.

- Codes1087

He sure didn't play in that game. Answer sure isn't Timashov but he would be free.

Timashov 39 gp 4-5-9 / 8:06 TOI / Hits per 60 15.76 / 5'10" 192 lbs
Motte 26 gp 3-4-7 / 12:48 TOI / Hits per 60 16.02 / 5'10" 192 lbs

Both speedy, fiesty.

Sure are right about Sutter. Today's league if you aren't going to hit, you better score at an unbelievable pace. He's 15 lbs heavier than Petey but he gets knocked off the puck probably every time he touches it. He's not fast. Unfortunately the game passed him by and his face-off shutdown characteristics have become obsolete.

You are here from sun up to late in the night seven days a week, he might actually have something to do with his life other than sit on here all day like you

Two good points, 1st I have noticed an unhealthy obsession between N4U and VHG, but it’s one sided because N4U isn’t around any more...

2nd, loved the game, this is what I complained about and they came to play against the best team, I hope this iteration of the Canucks continues on for the remainder of the season and playoffs.

Dorian deserves GM of the year after getting an absolute dud of a draft last season thanks to Murray, he’s turned around and may have two top 5 picks in what is supposed to be a really good draft. Not to mention whatever he gets by the end of the tdl tomorrow.

When Pearson was traded to Van and played a game or two. TG at a press conference was asked about him and what I do remember is TG saying that "Pearson, just knows how to play the game the right way"

Now with Miller who has played for AV and Jon Cooper comes in and I doubt anyone is claiming he plays the game the wrong way.

Now Toffoli who has played for Stanley Cup winning coach comes in and first thing we notice is that he "plays the game the right way".

Seeing three players who were brought in and learned to "play the right way" by other coaches have an impact on the players that have known really no one but TG or WD

Sedin's great mentor's but they played a game that couldn't be played by others.

I don't want to move Toffoli off of Petey's line . Think it is a great fit and will create the most scoring chances.

I was never a fan of how the Canucks played over the last decade at all. I do like the way I see them playing this year.

That's a very muddled sentence

But, the key part of that is "learned". They didn't come in knowing it, they got reamed out by their coaches and other players for it, and over time they understood.

WD was probably pretty terrible at it, but TG seems to have players on that curve upwards. Virt has shown steady improvement. Gaudette also learning the ropes. The only one that's been getting a pass from TG is Brock, but that's because he can score goals.

In a league that's getting exceedingly faster everyday, Wayne Simmonds brings toughness.............. but his ability to keep up with the pace of play is what worries me.

Wow. Do you feel it’s consistent enough? Ive watched some games thinking that these guys don’t care or aren’t talented enough.

Other games they look like world beaters. It can be frustrating at times.

That's experience most likely.
