I dont think so. Yes he had that one 70 point season but last season he had 34 points in 55 games. This year he has 35 points in 55 games. Thats still a 50+ point pace over 82 games which seems to be his normal output per season

I think so. Why does Florida want to trade their second line center?

My assumption would be they only make this move if Patrick is not going to return. From what I have read it does not appear Fletcher is looking to deal our 1st. So 2nd and a prospect not named Frost. Would be something I would be comfortable with.

They won't know by Monday if Patrick is going to return or not.

Not sure. Not saying the deal can be made. Just saying he’d be a great fit. I’d hate to trade Laughton after the season he’s having.

If Ghost wasn’t currently on a conditioning stint, moving Braun is an option but I don’t want that with how thin we are at D and how well our pairings have played. I know Braun is a UFA but you just include him for cap purposes.

It doesn't make sense to be a buyer and then move Braun.

They wouldnt. My point has never been that FLA would trade him. It makes no sense.

They wont know but they can get a better sense of where he is at or just tell him they are shutting him down. He could also sit out until playoffs which of course makes little sense on a young player who hasnt played this season but its an option.

On another note would you prefer a guy like Thornton as appose to Staal?

They could do a lot of things including sending him to the Phantoms. How can you tell a guy who has been working all season to get back that you're going to shut him down just for cap reasons?

I don't prefer either player. I don't want the Flyers to make that kind of move.

I know. That’s why I said it I wouldn’t want to do that with how thin we are at defense past these guys
