Please Flyers, don't do this. - MJL
There is no way Minnesota would do that. Chuck would do that in a heartbeat. |

If Chuck would do that in a heartbeat, he should change his mind. It's too much.

So you're telling me if Fletcher gets on the phone and gets offered a deal during the carnival he likes, he's going to tell the other GM to call back after the carnival? They may wait to announce the deal but it's not going to stop a deal from happening. - MJL
Do you really need things spelled out for you to the smallest detail. Cmon your smart enough to know that sure a agreement in principle may be had but nothing is going to the league office until after the carnival is over.
Once it goes to the the league then it’s punlic pretty much.
Yes, I can imagine Fletch telling another GM he will do as id move but with a organizational event can he agree to make it official after the event is over.
That’s all I’m saying. |

Chuck does remind me a lot like Bob Clarke when he was GM. |

How so? Org is down on Vorobyev, Ginning is third-pair type prospect, a 2021 2nd rounder gives you plenty of time to replace that asset and this scenario has Wild retaining half of Staal. He is still productive and has only one contract year after this one. At 50% of his cap hit, it'd be hard to turn that down. |

You know there are two teams involved right? The carnival is not going to stop hockey business.

IMO you are vastly over rating Vorobyev and Ginning, both of who will probably never be NHL regulars let alone regulars with the Flyers.
Im with Bill on this one, Minnesota would laugh at that proposal even with 50% retained.

As rentals at center, I like Staal and Thornton. I don’t think Cousins is an upgrade, so I don’t like that. I know some sites say that the Flyers aren’t on Thornton’s list but he could change his mind.
On wing, I don’t think a rental makes sense. A trade for Kapanen just sounds difficult. I don’t see a lot I want to offer them that they would accept, even if it is fair. Friedman, Pitlick and a pick just might not be what they want.
Carter with the cost, term and cap would be really tricky and a little risky. Also the likelihood of getting a fair deal for Ghost seems slimmer with the recent injury. |

He's 35. I think if Minnesota is going to retain salary, the price will go up. I wouldn't give up Ginning. He's a good defense prospect. |

I'm not overrating Vorobyev at all. Including him in the deal does not give me any pause. I think Ginning is a solid defense prospect that the Flyers should keep.
I haven't made any comments on what Minnesota would do only that I don't want the Flyers to make that deal. |

Is it gibbing or the second that scares you? For 50% retention through next year I don’t think it’s crazy. Voro is the throw in for this year roster spot. So prospect and pick for staal. Gibbing to me is 3 or 4 down the list for our d men prospects. Zamula and York ahead.
Would attard be better or just not willing to send a prospect and pick. |

The Wild would laugh on the phone at the offer.
If Minny actually somehow agreed to that I’m sure Fletcher would drive up to St. Paul to pick him up himself. |

Gibbing has a good chance. Imo. Still young. Will never be a big star but I think he will make it to the nhl.
Ps. I hate auto correct. |

That would be great in the middle of signing autographs a playing is asked how he feels about being traded.
Stop being a tool. GM’s for the flyers in the past have already said nothing will happen during the carnival.
I’m right your wrong end of story. |

1. I think we match up with the caps much better and would rather face then in round 1
2. Pens have more games in hand |
