Grant is a 4th line option. Frost is not that kind of player.

No kidding, the article references Frost as an upgrade if the flyers wanted more offense.
I don’t see MF providing that. There is little evidence to suggest MF is suddenly going to produce playing third line center.
So for me this guy seems like a better fit than bunny.
Without studying cap inclinations that would leave little room for MF depending on what the cost was for the Flyers.
I’d guess it would take a pick or middling prospect.

My point was that the reason for adding Grant is that he is decent on faceoffs and plays high minutes on the PK. I think he adds more value than Bunnaman as a 4th line center and can be used more effectively as a role player. I don't see how Frost factors in any way to adding a player like Grant.

There is no salary cap in the playoffs. Frost is also on a EL deal.

There is a cap during the season. My understanding of the article is that the reason to not add a player such as Grant is that MF has more offensive upside. With 20 plus games left I can’t see the flyers adding a Grant type of player and calling Frost back up.
Most likely Frost is added to the roster after the AHL season is over or there is an injury on the flyers necessitating a call up.

I'll explain it this way. I don't care what the article says about Frost. They are not players who would fit the same role. Frost in my opinion is not a candidate for the 4th line center role on the Flyers. Therefore Frost is not a factor in any way in deciding whether to add a player like Grant. The question is if Grant would be an upgrade over Bunnaman.

The point of stating that there is no cap in the playoffs is to suggest that Frost could be added to the playoff roster after the regular season.

What in God’s holy name are you debating?
I’m not disgreeing. The link to the article you posted named Frost as a player the flyers could add if they were looking for offense.
If the flyers called up Frost for the remainder of the season I don’t see the viability of adding Grant.
I’m just not seeing the flyers calling up Frost and upgrading the 4th line center spot all at once.
Imo Grant is a better option for the team and is a upgrade over Bunnamen.
I already stated that either way Frost most likely is on the roster for any playoff run.

Frost is not a factor in any way to adding Grant. I'd try and explain it again but it's been futile to this point and that's not likely to change.
