There is only one reason you don’t want to change the terrible coaching staff, you just don’t want the Canucks to get any better, as an Oilers fan you want Canucks to wallow in mediocrity with Green.

Green is a good coach. Baumer is a bad coach

Just curious what more Miller would have to do to be worth a 1st and a 3rd in your opinion.

Our 1st for JTM or Blake Coleman?

JTM a no brainer

Disagree, a guy that has been around 13 years just all of a sudden has become the drafting genius, bull, you just refuse to give Benning any respect or credit for anything that now you are going to proclaim a deadbeat during the Gillis era as the reason for Benning’s success.
- Makita

I've been arguing this for ages, but can't stop a great narrative...

You are adding a conditional 3rd that almost certainly will not be included and Tampa was desperate to shed salary, and moving a third line guy in the $5m range was a good fix for them. What were Miller’s point totals at the TDL last year? A hint, he finished with 47 points and 2 points in 4 playoff games.

TBL Pres Cup swept in the 1st round.
IDGAF about what was rather what is.
Miller was poorly utilized.

Do you think Petey will be a superstar for 10 years? If so, maybe. Love the kid but not quite sold. The chances of us drafting another 1C when we are picking at the end of the first is pretty slim
- CanuckDon

Picking at the end of the 1st says we are doing something very good.

That wasnt the question.

I wanted to know what more miller had to do for bettman to think he is worth it. I think hes exceeded the acquisition cost already, but that's just my opinion.

Nothing to prove it’s very obvious to me. Drafting alone doesn’t improve a team. Miller has silenced every critic.

Because one trade isn’t as bad as another doesn’t make it good. Obviously that’s an over statement but...

Currently 17 teams that need LTIR to be cap compliant

10 GMs have traded their first round pick

Funny how Benning always seems to be doing the worst of any of them

I think both were very talented but do I think the Canucks used them properly

Exactly. Sure it's all great to draft core talent and stockpile picks but that sure doesn't guarantee success. We 'finally' have two core draft pieces in Petey-Hughes and it took awhile. Not every team has a Crosby/Malkin - Toews/Kane - Bergeron/Marchand fall in their lap. If people wanna wait around for 20 years of drafting and stocking picks good on em I guess.

Selanne Niedermayer is a good comparison we just need our Chris Pronger
