Edler-Barrie makes me sweat, in a good way, the same way Hughes-Tanev does.

Hearing a few things from different places. A roster Dman in either Stecher or even Benn will be going to Toronto for Barrie along with Sutter, Baertschi or MacEwen. Conditional pick involved if Barrie re-signs

People in this market circle jerk to Hoglander highlights but turn their nose up at a 2nd round pick in a better draft... Ok. & Madden was my fav prospect in the system so I’m biased there. If Toffoli is a “pure rental”, that’s mortgaging the future - no clue how that’s so difficult to understand. If we’re able to re-sign him without paying a UFA premium, it becomes an ok deal. Still not great though, IMO.

I can see the Leafs wanting to move Barrie, but I think it's Sutter and Stetcher not Bearcheese and Benn. I'd probably still make the trade to lose $$ next season, but Sven and Benn is a much better deal for us both this and next season.

My bigger question why would they want Stecher

I don't mind waiting for Barrie in the summer if the return is too high
