Yes, of course.. No other team has cap issues |

I have been thinking more about that game... up until MArazek got injured teh team was playing all right. It’s almost like after that they were in shock. Like when you witness a car accident. Your knees go weak and you are in a daze. They couldn’t seem to get anything back. I dont want to excuse them, but that’s what it seemed like. it would be silimair to seeing a player collapse on teh ice (Jbo) and then trying to play. I think it was shock... - Hockey_Reverend
They were poop all night. Could not execute a pass at all. Toe picks and losing edges all night too. Looked like Timbits hockey out there. |

Leaf fans think the key to winning is to not give 22 year-old superstars a lot. Instead overpay for 4th liners to "Balance" the lineup... - RogerRoeper

Matthews has always been the better player - PatC80
Great move by Bergevin, got good production out of the player for league minimum, got a free 3rd rounder and did Kovalchuk a solid and increased the chances of him signing with the Habs next year as a UFA.

If Kovalchuk doesn't work out in Washington, I really expect him to come back where he did kinda work. Which is Montreal. |

We have a lot tied up in superstars. That's ok. Pay your stars, don't overpay for supporting players. - RogerRoeper
I agree with this. The point is that the superstars aren't executing like superstars. Matthews has been elite.
At 5v5, Tavares is -6 in goal differential; Marner is -5. If we want to throw his name into the mix, Nylander is +4. Again, in much the same situations, Hyman is +3.
Matthews, as noted, is +17.
We need more out of Tavares and Marner in particular, and to be honest, Nylander, too.
Any +/- metric has it's limitations, but again when compared to the team as a whole, particularly when you have an idea of the level of competition faced, it gives you a decent picture: Marner and Tavares are not executing at the level they are expected to execute at. |

Heard that too.. Sounds like it is gonna happen - PatC80
Whatever they get they aren’t gunna keep...as long as it’s good assets they can either flip today or at the draft I am fine with it.
Has to be a really good return though and other GMs know that. They aren’t getting a discount they are probably hoping to get for Krieder or Pageau who are guaranteed to go. |

Touched his soul so hard that he's created a temporal rift where roger can hear the thoughts of islanders fans hating Lou. |

Montreal has much more cap flexibiiity than the Capitals. If they sign Holtby to big money, it could use up most of their space. Doubt very much they can re-sign Kovy. Montreal will have both space and motivation to re-sign him.

I think you may have some PTSD. Or retroactive effects from the alcohol consumption that followed as a result of the game.
They weren't good at all that game. They were worse after Mrazek went down, but they were horribly outplayed all game long. |

I like that.. Matthews/Marner/Tavares/Nylander needed to be benched in the last 5 minutes of the game.. They were not doing anything.. Just missed passes, toe picks and turnovers. |

Keefe acknowledged it after the game. Paraphrasing here, but he said "we lost before the goalie switch to Ayres" |
