unfortunately i think mlse will have to fire david ayres, how can you have him hanging around the team now as they have become the laughing stock of the league because of him? he will be a constant reminder that they lost to a beer leaguer 42 year old zamboni driving marlies practice roster goalie. he cannot be around the team anymore for the foreseeable future, maybe he can come back when all of this blows over or the roster has changed significantly.

AND if in the event the leaf team as whole decided to go easy on him because they know him, like him and wanted him to get the win, they should be ashamed of themselves because people pay a lot of money to watch them and points at this stage of the season are vital to your playoff chances. this is your job, fun time was over when you got your fat contracts, show some pride.

ayres to start for the leafs tuesday vs tampa on an emergency basis. clifford had tunnel vision and went hard for the puck all practice and injured every goalie the leafs have signed to contracts in the organization.

as jason spezza described it "all the goalies were invited to practice today and it was like cliffy was bowling and he was the bowling ball and freddy, jack, hutch, ian, joseph and kask were all the bowling pins. i have never seen a man want the puck more than kyle clifford at practice today. there was equipment and body parts everywhere, i think i saw freddy's head across the goal line in the net, mitchy had a blocker stuck up his butt, derm was knocked cold by a goalie pad and poor kask, a goalie glove is supposed to go on the hand and the skates with skate blades on the feet, poor poor kasky....it is very sad that he will never get to play an nhl game. you're my boy kask! but, looking at the positive side, it would be an honor to play for a zamboni driver on a win streak."

I concur. Myers would be fine but not for Kap, a 1st and a prospect.

Here's a thought: Dubas, swallow your pride and realize you aren't winning 13 of your remaining games and keep the first rounder. See what's available in the offseason or just draft a new player with it. Crazy concept I know but...
