It is an absolute outrage that this organization puts these two plugs on the ice with McDavid! If I'm in McDavid's camp I am screaming at the Edmonton Oilers management after this one. All he did was back check and after 5 kicked passes by his crap wingers, all he did was shoot. Wanna know why he had so many shots on goal tonight? Because he knows how bad his wingers suck.

Yeah. Green isn't an amazing player and I'll wait to see if this deal is a precursor for another one (Larsson or Benning, perhaps) before stating anything too definitive. At worst, he's a veteran guy that has done pretty well in some tough minutes on the worst team in years.

I don't think Draisaitl could handle the defensive load with the other crap wingers, but Nuge can. I'd probably give Connor one of those guys (Drai or Yammer). 8/12 fwds on our team are just not good enough hockey players. That won't cut it.

I agree with the general premise that McDavid needs better wingers, but I don't think 8/12 aren't good enough to be in the NHL (if that's what you mean). I think 8/12 are currently being forced to play above their ability. All of Sheahan, Archibald, Haas and Chiasson are appropriately slotted as 4th liners. The void that is our 3rd line is probably the biggest problem for me.

As we reported at The Cult earlier today, Mike Green had a modified NTC. Submitted a list of 10 teams he would say “yes” to. Wanted to come to the #Oilers and Edmonton. Very good acquisition, excellent price tag.
