Off topic. Nice to see Kobe Bryant's wife filing a wrongful death suit against the dead pilot of the helicopter. |

I won't lie and say that I've paid much attention to his team or his skating this season, but one thing I feel comfortable saying is Thompson is one of those guys who is really smart and always on the right side of the puck, with a really good motor
AV hasn't changed over the years, to me. He's one of those guys who just can't stand it when you get beat because you didn't do what you were supposed to do. Sometimes you get beat because a team is better than you. But I always thought AV was a coach who just wants his depth players to play the right way all the time, down the stretch - AllInForFlyers
I'd say that's pretty much the same with every coach. |

Nope. But if I see one of Farabee or NAK sitting in favor of Nate (frank)ing Thompson I might chime in. - PLindbergh31
If that happens you won't have to chime in because I feel like the whole board will . |

I think it's more than a slight improvement. This gives them a player that they can use more situationally and possibly take some D zone draws to allow Couturier to play more in better offensive situations. Bunnaman couldn't be used like that and did not contribute on special teams. - MJL
Bunnaman has been better than expected during the 2nd half, and in the future, he will be an excellent PP2 net front.

I'm all for anything that hurts the Bruins, but that Rome hit was way late. - jmatchett383
no question. it was way late and the principle point of contact was indeed Nathan Horton's head. Rome got exactly what he deserved. Also, Burrows, LaPierre, and Torres were total D-bags in that series.. by the end of it, I was pulling for the Bruins because I was sick of the Canucks style of play. But.. it came really close to working, and that is the bottom line for me.
I mean really.. me.. a tried and true Bruins hater... pulling for the Broons.. I probably should have taken myself out and had myself shot for that. |

Yea have to see how this plays out. Not sure why they need two centers. Could move Laughton to wing I guess, which I like. He's better at wing. However that mean someone else has to sit other than Bunnaman. - MJL
maybe a feeling that Farabee isn't ready for the rigors of NHL playoffs? |

the team that lost out to the Bruins was nasty. if they hadnt run out of defensemen, they win that Cup. but they just couldnt absorb the loss of Hamhuis, the suspension of Rome, and then Edler and Erhoff playing with broken fingers and separated shoulders. Also, Keith Ballard was an absolute turnstile in that series, IIRC. - Doc_Sarcasm
They were. Bieksa, Kesler, Burrows. Raffi Torres was out there. AV doesn't like goons, but he doesn't mind a little bit of nasty and commitment to grinding other guys |

Really like the Grant move. Doesn't give up a significant part of the future and adds a solid role player with no future cap commitment. - MJL
How does a guy score 14-goals w/ 70% DZS?
(oh, he's shooting 17%...) |

it will never happen. Because the Flyers know better than a bunch of internet armchair Monday morning QB's. So I wouldn't worry about it. |

Who cares. Not really trading for him for goal scoring. It's a bonus. |

He's pretty consistent. I'm not saying I agree or diasgree if a younger player like NAK sits. I'm just saying that I can see, based on AV's past teams, that yeah, a guy like Nate Thompson is gonna get a good look down the stretch from him

Yeah, I was actually doing the same, which felt dirty. But also, Marchand should have been suspended for his low bridge on Sedin. |

They traded for both for center depth, which is very important. We'll see how it shakes out but it won't be Thompson playing over Aube-Kubel. It will be other players such as Raffl, Pitlick, etc. playing over Farabee or Aube-Kubel. Having a veteran checking center was needed for the playoffs. Bunnaman played well relative to his abilities but an upgrade there is nice. |

That, or he gets out in front of things by crying about them, and then is nowhere to be found when those things work out well for the Flyers. |

Does it really matter? People get hurt, youngsters hit the late-season wall, they're all gonna end up playing. NT provides depth and insurance. |
