I get the impression from what we paid that he was the player Lameriello wanted all along and didn’t want him to get away. I’m completely on board with that. - Cptmjl
Pageau is a Trotz style player for sure. Couldn't ask for a better fit. |

Carries him to 33yoa. The cashola is a bit high but this is a decent term that will carry him through his prime years - keaner17
He's versatile, which to me makes it a lot easier to transition him to a 4th line role as he gets older, if need be. Now I love this deal. Something's gotta give in the offseason though, but we have plenty of time until then. |

Our 3rd line has been a black hole for literally years. This move may fix that. Super happy with this especially now that he’s locked up. |

This may drive a player like bailey. You know he doesn’t want to go anywhere. |

Yeah maybe it won’t Bailey seems to be what he is. A decent player who sometimes vanishes. He is what he is. Though these new addition(s) should drive the competition I would think. |

Tavares rumored to want to come back to the island. Lou working out a possible deal involving defenseman going back - mighty13duck

Funny if Bailey goes on a little run and still is the one to be moved this offseason. |

Pageau says he expects to make his debut tomorrow vs. the Rangers.
Hopefully he doesn't get jammed up with visa issues

There is an extra level of paperwork on this for a Canadian citizen who was playing for a Canadian team to get cleared to play for a US-based team. |

Yeah that’s exactly how it could go down. In a perfect world it would be Komarov and someone else but that’s not happening. Bailey seems like the odd man out I just can’t see Leddy getting traded. |

Gotta assume a guy like Bailey will be left unprotected for the expansion draft. |

Best thing is they get some picks for Bailey and Wahlstrom is ready to go. Saves Isles good money and hopefully more overall talent than Bailey. |

Good question, depends on the definition of a No Trade Clause, which Pageau has, vs. No Movement Clause, I would imagine. Seems like a piece Lou wants as part of the core, so probably a moot point anyway. |

This is going to be a rough draft to get back into the first round. Being regarded as one of the best in years from what little Ive read. Not saying it won’t happen but it’ll most likely be tough. |

CAP talk:
If we sign a couple of these RFA's to 2 year bridge deals this summer we have over $20 mill coming off the cap after that.. we really are in very good shape Cap wise despite all the fools on Twitter losing their minds. So u lock up Barzal long term if you can and sign Toews and Pulock to birdge deals knowing u have Boychuk, Clutter, Leo, and Leddy numbers coming off the books. Can add Hickey's and Ross's number also.. |
