Yeah, that reeks of he will be dealt in the offseason. - Mancalledsting
Seems like there's a lot of complicated financial work to be done with all Ladd's bonuses and the money going in/out of both teams. They have plenty of time to hammer it out now. |

Guerin: There are certain moves that just require more time and a little more detail. Sometimes you want to get through a season with a player, and revisit it. You’re not unhappy with him, but you could see the potential return you could get, so you revisit it."
Michael Russo @RussoHockey
Guerin talked to Parise after deadline:
"He and I had a good conversation. We’ll get together again at another time, but he seemed to be in a good spot. He’s a professional and tomorrow night I would expect nothing but the usual Zach Parise effort we see every night."

Parise would be great for the room and a young player like Wahlstrom next year. |

Seems like Zach wants out and, as far as I can tell, is only waiving to come to the Island. I doubt it was that awkward. |

If I were the Isles, I would not consider adding much to Ladd if this deal were to happen in the offseason. Parise hasn't played a full season since 2012. While he put up good numbers last year, he's broken 30 goals once since that same 2012 season. If he were coming as a UFA, I'd welcome him with open arms but the idea that we might have to throw something in along with Ladd makes me at least question just what that additional piece would be. At this stage I'd define Parise as a 22-25 goal scorer who will likely play 65-70games. Those numbers on both counts are likely to go down as time moves along, despite his overall cost.
I'm not saying 'don't get him' but there may be better options that come with less risk. Given the money we'll be handing out to Pulock and Barzal, we need to be very considerate in our other five year investments

Considering Ladd was known to have back issues before he ever even came to Long Island, that was a crappy investment

That's all definitely fair. Obviously a whole lot hinges on what the "what else" in that deal would be.
Things should continue to be interesting this summer, Parise or no Parise. Cap going to get real tight for next season and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see a good player shipped out. It's all fun though. It's nice to be involved in things and relevant again, as well as being viewed in a positive light by players across the league. |

Do you think both Leddy and Bailey will need to go? I do not trade Pulock or Toews. I think Lou is going to look to continue to deal. Pageau signing and Parise willing to come are great signs. You make deals it gets other players attention. |

This right here, is bigger than that 'potential' trade itself. The fact that Parise is so roundly beloved/respected by other players and it has now been publicly disclosed that he waived his NTC just to come to the Isles is a big positive image thing. The Tavares issue was such a step back both image and talent-wise for this team, we needed some good PR like this |

I cannot imagine they'd need to move both. They may not move either.
Cap can go up a maximum of 5% of the current upper limit, or $4,075,000, which (if they do raise it by the maximum 5% inflation) would bring the ceiling up to $85,575.000. That covers a hair over 80% of Pageau's extension. They may be able to make some relatively simple moves to accommodate 13/6/25 and a 2nd goalie. |

It also keeps the current players on their toes seeing the team is willing to deal. |

I still at least move Bailey for the room and picks and to get Wahlstrom in. Is it crazy for Lou to try to sign Greene and maybe the team moves Mayfield? |

Lou has it under control. You just worry about Pageau lighting about the Rangers tomorrow. Sorry this trade thing is new around these parts. - ses111

Absolutely. Today was a good day. Wanted Pageau pretty much the whole season. Pageau to me was like Sorokin to chiefs. 🤣
Green has been good and who knows maybe Ladd can get back to playing even ok potentially with Pageau on the 3rd line(?). He looked pretty good in his last game. A man can dream.
Varlamov keeps playing the way he has recently and Greiss finds his game again I’m happy with our chances down the stretch and in the playoffs.
I really believe Pageau is going to help our line up a lot more than people are thinking. You would think we resigned Eric Boulton the way Twitter looks right now.😂 - Cptmjl
I once saw someone say about Jets fans that one could find a bag of twenty dollar bills and female dog about them not being fifties. You could easily say the same about Isles fans. |
