Solid moves for the cap strapped oilers. Holland did good his first oilers deadline.

Happy with today. Get AA re-signed cheaply before he sniffs McD's coattails.

Awful moves. How is Neal ever going to get to 21 goals now?

The #Oilers have acquired goaltender Angus Redmond & a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022 from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenceman Joel Persson.

But it’s not even AHL competition? I would think a young right shot puck moving D that will be pushing for a spot in the NHL in training camp is worth more than that? And Redmond wasn’t even the best goalie on the ECHL team!

Its being said that both CMD and AA are both puck carriers and might not lineup well together.

Hard not to be happy with the moves today.
I'd really like to see Benson get a look on the top line with Connor and AA.
Ennis could fit well on the 3rd. I dont expect Benson to stay up when Kassian and Neal are back, but it would be nice to see what he can do over a game or 2.

I heard that as well but I’m hoping AA is smart enough to understand that he is playing with Connor McDavid

We'll see. Drai and McD are both puck carriers and played pretty ok together.
If it doesn't work maybe Ennis will be McDavids Yamamoto.

Was he??
If so too bad, he played decently, but inconsistent and didn't make it a tough decision to send him back.

Edit: Yeah he was, hours ago.

Yamamoto was sent back down and came back a much better player....I’m not saying the exact same thing will happen but more time with the Condors doesn’t hurt him at this point

Benson doesn't look ready yet. The biggest difference with the jump from the A to the show is the transition speed. Most guys have great skill in the minors but they just don't have the time that they're used to when they're in the NHL. Benson seems to be dealing with this issue because he's a half second too late on pretty much every play, especially receiving and relaying the outlet pass from the wall. Maybe one day, but he's not there yet. Ennis and AA should go with Connor immediately. Finally some NHL wingers for him. I think I would try Drai and Connor again and let Nuge run with the second line...maybe after their current success reverts back a bit. (they're on fire right now!).

There is no guarantee anywhere that AA will be on the top line.. he might start there, he might not. They *could* reunite Drai and McDavid, and let AA carry the puck on the second line... things are not simply as one dimensional as you make them out to be.

Green for a 4th is a steal when he's healthy. He's one of the few Wings that had a measurable positive impact this season.

That would be a terrible move. We saw it yesterday how LA still matched Doughty with McDavid which allowed the second line to get open ice and start cycling. Keeping 2 scoring lines is and should be the ideal plan going forward.
