My issue is you traded a 24 year old RFA capable of scoring 40 pts for 2 pending UFAs. |

So... I dont see the official trade set yet, but EK copied off twitter than Tampa Bay gave up their 1st for Barclay Goodrow... a near 4th liner forward who hasn't had more than 10 goals in a year.
What the holy (frank) is that deal? Kahun is worth three 1sts to Tampa Bay then. |

No, Kahun is an RFA. Tampa paid that much for those guys because they are signed next season and Tampa has literally no room. |

Fvck Kahun now. It's done and over He's dead to me, was never really attached to begin with...how could I be?...he was here 3/4s of a season, played great about a 1/3 of that time and missed time with injuries during.
Zucker , Marleau, Sheary and Rody is how we should look at it...and I like it.

Regardless of he was an RFA or a UFA, he was getting a raise that the Pens most likely can't afford. So, getting two UFA's makes no difference. Let them walk or sign them cheap... |

I agree. "Win now" doesn't mean you can't swap depth forwards to address potential cap issues in subsequent seasons. |

End of the world for some folks. Others see the pragmatism of swapping depth forwards for better salary cap position next season. |

Tsn said penguins were very close to acquiring gustafsson before flames came in and gave them full asking price for him. 3rd rounder is what they got. |

Ok, again, I’m warming up to the trade but explain this logic. Players don’t ever get offersheeted in this league and you can always cut bait with an RFA if you’re really in that much of a bind. There’s no way of looking at it where Sheary expiring is more advantageous than Kahun being restricted. |

He is a typical 4th plug. Plays 1 out of 10 games "Well" then the other 9 looks like the undrafted player that he was. - hehateme
Thanks. He is going to have to commit to defense or he will be in the press box.
I am guessing the Pens were interested in Sheary and aren't going to play games with Rodrigues. |

On top of that, you have two players with similar point totals, one playing in Pittsburgh versus one playing for a much-worse overall team in Buffalo. And one has two Cups with you already. So combine that with less hassle come summertime, and figure, why not? Or maybe I'm on the wrong track altogether, I don't know. Either way, is it really that big a deal? No futures were given up, and if the deal ends up being a stinker, it's all gone at the end of the season. |
